Any way to disable "Remember Text"?

I thought I had gotten rid of the "Remember Text" feature by toggling it off, but it keeps resurfacing in new documents. I go to enter text and up come the old text, before I can type a new line. Is there a permanent solution for this very annoying problem?

I tried creating text and unchecking the box to remember text. But the darn thing keeps coming back. Has anyone been able to disable this pesky feature? If so, pleeeeeeeeeese share.

Most people do not have this problem. When they turn it off, it stays off. No trick to it.

You may have to reset your workspace to factory defaults.

I have had problems with the Text Tool since the beginning. If a reset fails, I'll reinstall the program. Thanks for kindly responding.
