I factory reset my computer. I bought PSPx4 long ago and have upgraded ever single time there has been one. X5, X6, X7 and X8. I need to redownload my X8 UPGRADE. These were all digital downloaded upgrades. It says my download link has expired. So have I just simply LOST all that money for upgrades? I spent a small fortune, but cannot download X8 Ultimate now, even though I have a perfectly good Key because my download link expired? Is there no way to get a new download link? If there isn't, I am aghast that I have paid to upgrade all these years only to lose everything. PSPX4 doesn't run on my system. It's Windows 8.1. I have to upgrade or I have nothing.
Can someone help?

Re: Help with PSPx8 Upgrade reinstall
Can you tell us what "it" is that tells you this? Normally, most of us download the installation files and keep them safely stored either on the computer somewhere and/or on an external hard drive so that we can use them again and again if necessary. I do this and have never been told I have run out of time to reinstall.ktraxel wrote:It says my download link has expired.
Where did you buy the X8 download -- the Corel store or somewhere else? Did you register it?

Re: Help with PSPx8 Upgrade reinstall
I bought it at Corel. Downloaded it. I thought I DID save it, but I cannot find it. I can screen shot it for you, but when I log in to Corel, and go to my registered products, there is a link to my download of PSPX8. When I try it, it tells me it has expired. It IS possible I have the download on one of my 2 external hard drives, but I haven't found them yet. I was SURE I saved them, I normally do. It tells me my serial is perfectly ok, but my download link is expired.

Re: Help with PSPx8 Upgrade reinstall
I have an email in to support with my Cleverbridge number. Maybe they will send me a new download link. It's possible that just THAT link has expired to prevent theft (?).

Re: Help with PSPx8 Upgrade reinstall
Yeah this is another problem with older versions, but with Photoshop you would probably have trouble getting an older version from Adobe.
When you placed your order you were given a download link which was valid for I recall 2 weeks (or was it a date) . To have that extended to 1 year you had to pay an extra bit of money.
As Ken has suggested many of us when we download a program that we have paid for , will back that up in a known location in case there is a problem. This should be basic organisation and filing for all computer users as they can all fail and the most important part of a computer system is the programs we install. Without them most of the computer system is a pile of junk., Programs, documents, music, videos anything that is important should be backed up at least a couple of times .
If you cannot locate the program on your other drives then do a Google search on "Download old versions of Paintshop pro X8"

Re: Help with PSPx8 Upgrade reinstall
I DID back it up but I have 3 hard drives to dig through. I also have an order right there on the Corel site with the link. That should be all I need. If I pay for it I should be able to use it as long as I want. That is the part that is upsetting (to say the least). I have done a search for previous versions, but cannot find the UPGRADE. Without it being an Upgrade my key won't work. Why would they allow my key to still work and not let me download it again? It makes no sense. Unless of course it has to do with theft in which case I get it, but still. They have it right there in front of them that I bought it, paid for it and had download links. I honestly didn't know they would expire. I guess I will be coming through a ton of terabytes to find it if I can't get them to help me. From now on I do disk or nothing. And I will back the files on the disk up on a separate external. I just don't have time right now to do that. Find all my downloads and back them up on their own drive. I have things to do. Things for which I need my PSPX8. I make tees and I need my program. It's all I used for the pigment dye ones. It's very frustrating. Thanks for the info tho. I appreciate you guys taking the time to answer. Maybe Corel will answer too. I have an email in to support. I can update if anyone is interested. If nothing else, if X4 will update to X9 I will just update to that. But I had better get a good deal for ALWAYS updating every single time something new comes out.

Re: Help with PSPx8 Upgrade reinstall
Grrrrrrrr......................now it says my serial is no good. I clearly states that even though my download is expired that my serial is perfectly fine. It isn't. Guess I'll use the 30 Day Evaluation copy until I get an email back from Cleverbridge. Trying hard to keep my temper in check. So frustrating. Also there is an activation code. That link is expired as well. My serial is invalid and my activation code download link is expired. WTG Corel.

Re: Help with PSPx8 Upgrade reinstall
Just so you know (if you even care, lol) I finally gave up completely, went to Amazon, purchased full version PSPX9, brand new on Prime for $45, and it will be here Tuesday. It was cheaper to do that than that the upgrade to it which I would have eventually done anyway. So I just went ahead and did it. Now I will have a disk (which I will back up digitally, obviously), lock it up, and this cannot happen again. But again, thank you to those that replied. Hopefully I will not need to ask any questions on this forum again and drive everyone nuts. (Yeah wish me luck with that).
I have had PSP since is was owned by JASC. I learned on PSP7. I still use it for quick crops and making memes. I learned on it, so I gravitate towards it when I am frustrated. The bad part is that the tools are so terribly mixed up (how did we ever LEARN IT???), but I know where to find them all because that is where I began. I'll always love my PSP, I even use it INSTEAD of Photoshop sometimes (Just don't even try to export a PNG out of it, it doesn't work. You DO NOT get a blank background) And it still has Animation Shop for quick animation for a funny pixel cartoon or something. Sometimes it is quicker and easier. (And I am still learning Photoshop and WOW. The more powerful the more crazy the learning curve). I've had PSP Elements forever, and have actions installed that I used a lot, but when I edit a photo it may go into several programs before I am finished. I find the easiest program for something simple like TEXT is my trusty old PSP7. Like I said, I make shirts, and if I want to make a cut file for vinyl, and it's all text, I usually start there. Looking forward to checking out X9.
Thanks again everyone!
