Exporting PspShapes..

Post by Muriel »

Well, Hello Again!

I have a .png image that I am struggling to import into the Preset Shape folder so it appears when I use the Preset Shape tool (PSP X9) It has colour, but that should not be an issue because I have several shapes with colour that were downloaded from the internet. And I note on sceenshots of other Preset Shape windows that show up on other sites images that I have downloaded as tubes, so there has to be a way to do this.

So, is there a way to export a .pspimage into the Preset Shape folder as a .PspShape format? I note that the .PspShape is listed under the .PspImage unbrella, but there is no way to isolate it. I expect it has to be a vector image and there is no way to create that from a raster image(?)

I have been messing with this annoying little challenge for years, and am now appealing to the folks who hang out here and are so much smarter than I am!

Many thanks..

Muriel! :D

No, PSP does not have a method for converting raster images into vector shapes. You have to create a vector shape inside PSP, and then use the export menu for Preset Shape to save it as a preset shape.

So if you're working with a raster PNG or raster PSPImage you'll either have to trace/draw it yourself, or find a raster to vector tracer that supports EMF or WMF export so PSP can import it. And then you can export it to a Preset Shape.
