Version 20.5 Video Freeze

I have a new LeNovo 510 All-In-One with 8GB Ram, 2 TB Hard drive and a NVIDIA GEForce 940MX graphics card. My Studio Ultimate 20.5 is also a new installation.
The timeline video is freezing up while the audio continues on normally. As far as I can tell the graphics card is set up correctly. I've tried AVI, MPG2 and MPG4 video transferred from my old computer as well as HD video imported in Studio.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

First can you confirm the version of Video Studio you are using?
Is it the trial version? Although you say Ultimate so I assume a purchased version?

Or does your program start with X20

Ok about the video you are using….
Do they play ok on your old computer?

Right click a clip on the timeline and choose properties. What are they?
You can create an jpeg image of that panel to attach to your post.

If your video are HD types then you may have to use Smart Proxy

Go to F6 Settings – Performance – enable Smart Proxy
Start a new project and add your video to the top track. Proxy files will be created automatically
They can take a while, once created should improve project playback
