option ''smart proxy manager'' -versions X7 & X10
Hello i have a question:for 3 years i using VSX7.i don't change any setting when importing subs.simply i drop in time line and the result was perfect.but with X10 when inserting subs the project flikers.the solution , you told me from the forum, was to enable smart proxy manager.but i have the next query that i forget to ask all this time:the VSX7 has also this option?(smart proxy manager)?and if it has it , why it never needed to enable it?if someone solve my query(i have unistalled VSX7 to check my self...)

Re: option ''smart proxy manager'' -versions X7 & X10
This may be a case of the blind leading the blind here but I think when first you installed VS X7 that you would have set the preferences for your projects
Check in Settings/ Preferences/ Performance then check the appropriate box
Once this is done, you don't need to re-do this unless you wish to change your preferences
The same still applies in VS X10
So perhaps you just forgot you set correctly in VS X7? My own recollections of what I did that long ago are somewhat less than reliable
For some reason I forgot to take this step in my first use of VS X10 with the consequences you mention, and had to go back and build these smart proxy files
All subsequent video introduced into projects now gets this automatically due to the preferences setting which is now switched on
A lesson learned -for me anyway, and thanks to the support of forum members

SmartProxy goes back to at least X6, and possibly a little earlier, but X6 is the earliest version I still have loaded...

Your profile doesn't list any version of VS, but more to the point, the 5 year old post that you responded to is about VS's Smart Proxy which has zilch to do with a proxy server that functions as a relay between clients and external networks.DeryByy wrote: I did manual proxy server setup in windows 10, at first it connects to the internet and network, but after a few minutes manual proxy server setup got disconnected, the entered address and port number was lost.
It is surprising that you're rocking a 32-bit version of Windows 10 as the last Intel 32-bit CPU for a desktop was released on 2002. In fact, VS2021 requires a 64-bit version of Windows.DeryByy wrote:operating_system: Windows 10

Sorry tletter -- DeryByy was found to be a spammer, hence the strange reference to proxy server and 32 bit CPU. I guess their post disappeared after they tried to insert a spam link with it and they were added to our Spammer group.
