Transparent image?

Post by Newman91 »

Hello, how do I export my image to a file with transparent background? I tried a few file types but every comes out with just a regular white background instead of transparency :/

Thanks in advance...

You should save at least one copy of your work as a .pspimage file, because this format (native only to PSP) saves transparency as well as everything else like layers, etc. If you need to use the image with transparency for other applications then save as PNG with transparency. When saving in any of those formats (or any format for that matter) make sure that you have looked at the advanced options available in the Save As dialogues for those formats to make sure you select the correct options.

If you're new to PSP then you should carefully read the user manual and/or help file for help with this and other issues.

Be aware that not all 'transparencies' are the same. Each editor treats them differently. ie I use Photoline as my main editor. I often send a tiff layer, with a transparent sections to PSP for editing. The transparent section in PSP looks, and acts, differently in PSP. You will have to experiment with various settings to see what works with your programs. There are many variables that can/may affect transparent sections.
