It prints fine for me. Do you even get the print dialogue box when you press Print, or does it crash immediately as soon as you press the Print icon or use the menu item File>Print?

The print dialogue box appears but it is showing partially with overlays on it. Then a box comes up to say Tab Control fails to initialize.

Re: Paint Shop Pro 2018 crash with Print
What do you mean by overlays. Could you take a screenshot and post it here? Also, that in itself isn't a crash if you are able to close the dialogue and PSP still works. Can you do that or do you have to exit PSP by using Task Manager?skiqueen58 wrote:The print dialogue box appears but it is showing partially with overlays on it. Re: Paint Shop Pro 2018 crash with Print
I have screen shots but really busy with daughters wedding. This was why I purchased next release. Been an owner of PPS since early 90's
This thing will not let me add the file of the screen shots. Below I open upload attachment. When I get the screen shot a .png file and say add fill you give me an error that it has to be bigger than 0 pixels. Well I see it in paint so why cannot I attach here.
I have to do everything in publisher after I edit pictures and bring them in at inserted images just to print. DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS.

Here are the screen shots. They had to be resized. UGH This is the series of events.
1. Tab control fails
2.weird print screen shot of overlayed screens
3. Program closes

Hi Skiqueen58,
We are so sorry knowing you are encountering this crash issue at this kind of important moment.
We would like to assist you to solve this issue but we may need more information for reference.
1. Can PSPX9 or older version reproduce the same crash issue?
2. Can other application (Paint or Word) duplicate the crash issue when you use a print function?
Before we can figure out the root cause, one idea that we can offer to you for trying. We are wondering if the crash caused by the printer driver isn't compatible or other cases. Can you update your printer driver to the newest version? Try it and offer more information to us. Thank you.

Re: Paint Shop Pro 2018 crash with Print
I have been a PSP customer for years and I bought this new version for the very same reason as the poster, I had irreparable printing problems with PSP X9. Every time I would try to print it would crash. And NOW I'm having the exact same issue as this person is having. GRRRR. Would love to figure this out.

Re: Paint Shop Pro 2018 crash with Print
With all the reminders to update Pro X9 to version X, I don't think so, since this print problem seems to affect both.
Hard to believe no one knows of a fix for a bug that has been around so long.
Would be nice to get a fix, quite a pain no being able to to print directly from Paint Shop Pro.

Re: Paint Shop Pro 2018 crash with Print
Update: Print problem seems to only affect 64bit version. Just tested with 32bit version and print worked fine.
Caught me by surprise, would think this would have been duplicated before now.

Re: Paint Shop Pro 2018 crash with Print
Hi
I read a reply by Ken Berry regarding Twain drivers not being supported by 64 bit, so if your printer uses Twain then you would only be able to print using 32 bit versions.
Although a message to that effect would be better than crashing the program?
The Twain issue was relating to Scanners, sorry was just a thought?

HP Officejet 8710 all-in-one that includes scanner. Suppose that could be the problem.

Re: Paint Shop Pro 2018 crash with Print
Can all those with problems try using the 32 bit version of PSP and see if the problem still occurs.
I rarely ever use PSP to print anyway, preferring to save the image and then print it through Irfanview.
You can print single images easily through Irfanview and if you require composite or template composite images you can still create them in PSP , save them to a folder and then print them out using Irfanview.
I just tested the File > Print with a layout of 3 images on both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of PSP 2018 and Canon IP 4700 printer (fairly old) and had no problems with either.

Re: Paint Shop Pro 2018 crash with Print
Never had a printing problem with any Corel products before PSP2018 64-bit. Did a lot of research with Corel tech to no avail. 32-bit version printing works fine. If problem is related to TWAIN driver(s), then it would explain my situation as I've just recently bought a new HP OfficeJet 7740 and it seems that's when my issues started. Other than contacting HP, I guess I'll use something else to print my 64-bit work.
