Thumbnails not showing in X6 Ultimate?

I recently updated my PC from WIndows 7 Home to Professional, and could not get PSP X6 running at all on it, only X8. So i bought a CD of Corel PSP X6 Ultimate to install as i prefer X6 to X8.

Anyway, it has installed fine and runs, the only issue is that in Explorer none of the thumbnails are showing, only the Corel icon.

I have seen dozens of posts about this issue, but :

1 - i have made sure that box is not ticked in View, that states Only Show Icon, Never Thumbnail, so its not that.

2 - all the other replies on the other posts i have seen mention this Windows Shell Extension, but i dont have that on mine, its not showing in the Installed Programs list in the Control Panel, and i searched the Corel folder for ShellExt.msi and dont have that either, which is also mentioned in a lot of previous posts

So is that the problem here? If so, where do i get the Windows Shell Extension for X6 from as its not installed from the CD

Until corel release a repair tool the only option is to reinstall.

I've downloaded Magic Thumbs for now, thats done it. Shameful that Corel havent done anything about this, reading the posts, its been going on for years!

Clean install is the best option. I have X6 on Windows 7 Professional and the PSP file thumbnails show fine in Windows Explorer.

Not necessarily related but to get more Raw file types to show in Windows Explorer I always install the latest Microsoft Camera Codec Pack-
