Video Stutter when using Project

Post by JackO »

Hi _ I have problem with the preview window having a video stutter. Here are the symptoms:

1. When I load a video from my Canon Rebel 6i (.mp4) and go to edit and play clip there is no stutter.
2. When I switch to project there is stutter for the same clip.
3. I have Smart Proxy turned on.
4. AVI Clips do not have this problem
5. Windows MM does not show any stutter on the same video clip.

I am using VS X9 with all patches up to SP 5.
Also isntalled FFDSHOW with no effect,
Any ideas?
thanks in Advance,
Jack

Hi JackO

And welcome to the forums………….

Can you make sure that Proxy Files have been created, simply enabling proxies is not sufficient.
Proxy files are created automatically when adding clips to the timeline
For existing clips on the timeline, right click for Create Smart Proxy Files.

A small icon shows on the clip when using proxies.
