Large file size. Does anyone Know why?

For several weeks I have had a problem with a slow response time when previewing projects when I use Smartsound. Technical services from Asia Pacific told me that the would send me a copy of the program with the fix in.

Three times over two weeks they have sent me a link to download the file from a ftp site.
each time we try to download the file it falls over.I have tried downloading on two different Broadband lines. It was going to take about 60 hours on dialup.

The one file is 681mb. i have asked why the file is so big but they never answer my question . All they do is send me another link. It took 6 days to get my last reply.

Can anyone tell me why the file should be so big as the original upgrade was divided into 7 sections? Or a phone number of someone I can ring.

The communication with Tech help is not good.

I almost wonder if I would be wasting my time upgrading to

Are you using a download manager? If not try one.
http://www.getright.com/

Then if your download stops for any reason you can continue from where you left off rather than from the start again.

Sorry -- well, sort of!! -- to sound facetious, but the file is big because it's big. This is also a reason why many of us here have strongly suggested to people that if at all possible (within their limits of patience) and they can wait the few days, that they purchase a hard copy/disc of the program and contents discs. Many people have experienced the frustration you are currently going through, and some, even when they have the full download, then experience problems in loading it all. I waited for the hard copy and it all loaded with no problem in a couple of minutes...
