PSP can't see images after auto windows update.

Post by UncleSteve »

Yes its old, but tried a new version and didn't like it! It does what I need :)

PSP 6 running on windows 7 pro.

A day or so a go, windows did an auto update, since then I'm unable to see any images in PSP, just the frame where the image should be.

I did a recovery back to before the update, success all good again.

Windows did another update last night, and I'm back to not seeing images.

I un-installed PSP, re-installed, still no images. I would paste some images to show, but without PSP working properly, I can't.

Any ideas please? Can't keep recovering to an earlier recovery point.

Thanks in advance.

I've since found out that I get the same issue with AutoCAD where I can't see what I've drawn, so not just a PSP issue. :(

Given that you're using such an old version and the new update to Windows doesn't seem compatible, I would suggest you do that recovery again to before the Windows updates and then turn OFF automatic updates for Windows. As long as you wish to work with some legacy programs you might just have to be satisfied with no Windows updates. I usually have more recent versions of programs but on Windows 8.1 and I always keep Windows from doing automatic updates simply because I never know when an update will break something.
