I dont know why this is not yet developed.
It would be so usefull for us programmers.
Allow the screen capture to be started separately and kept in the tray as a lightweight application.
If you hit the hotkey it brings only the capture. When you click accept (capture) now it opens PaintShopPro directly in edit mode.
There are a number of free and versatile screen capture programs that are lightweight, can open in the background, can be pinned to your taskbar if you want or alternatively you can just use their hotkeys for different types of capture. It sounds like you might be asking for Corel to create something similar but that's integrated in the program.

An options to always open PaintShopPro directly in Edit tab. "Default" tab or something.
Have you checked out all of the Preferences available in PSP (which every one should do with any program they are new to IMHO)? Go to Preferences>General Program Preferences and click Tab at the bottom of the list. You can choose screen you want PSP to open with.

Hi,
after only one day of work with 2018 just a modest wish, possibly for a Service pack:
When saving/exporting the command sequence for a image (i.e. the session or what it's called in the english version), would be nice to have the current image file name as a default for the LOG file name.
Please please please bring back the list of open images under the Windows menu in the Edit workspace. I made use of that feature all the time in versions up to PSP X9 when working with multiple images (often the case for me) in order to review what images I have open and to quickly navigate to a particular image, and was extremely disappointed to find that it has been removed from PSP 2018. In fact, the absence of this feature in PSP 2018 means I will probably continue to primarily use PSP X9. And yes, I know if using Tabbed Documents the filename shows up in the tabs, but I prefer to use Cascade. I really hate when a much-used feature is removed from a "new improved" version of a product!!

I contacted Corel Support about this when I couldn't find it in PSP 2018, wondering if I had missed something, but they confirmed that it was removed with the PSP 2018 version. They said developers thought it was a redundant feature and noted that the names still appear "in each photo's tab". But it wasn't a redundant feature. If the user is using Tabbed Documents, it's true that the names appear in each tab but unless there is only a small number of images open, the user has to scroll through the tabs to see what's open, and cannot see a list of all open images and jump to the one he/she wants. I.e. the user has to go through all the images without the aid of a "quick navigation list". And if using Cascade view, which I prefer, even that option isn't available.
I second MapleRon's request. And PLEASE stop removing features when bringing out the next version - that's degrading the product, not improving it! I'm sure the time of your programmers could be used more productively by concentrating on new features and not wasting valuable time removing existing features.
But also adding new features that people have asked for or making adjustments to old features that again people have asked for. In the wishlists for each version of PSP there is a wealth of information about features that people are asking for or corrections to older features that need to be changed.
How about it Corel, make a list of those features that have been asked for over and over again and also the corrections and make a new post here listing those and ask members of this forum to vote for the top 5 (or 6 or 7 or how many are feasible)changed , additions or improvements they would like and then you have a set direction for the next SP or the next version.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

You could be referring to Video Studio, seems we have a similar problems with updating / fixing existing issues, repeated requests seemingly ignored.
