I can capture video, but then can't open them in videoeditor

Not sure if I'm saving them as the wrong type of file or what. When I hit "record" to capture, I first tried saving them as an AVI file, but then realized that that won't open up in video editor for some reason. Then I tried saving the file as a MPG file, but it doesn't show up when I try to open it in video editor.....as if it doesn't even exist. What do I need to do? I'm so frustrated! Please help me somebody!!

Because you give NO DETAILS of what you are doing, I cannot be of much help but are you trying to import files onto the timeline by using 'Open'? If so, it won't work (it will only look for existing dvp projects). Try clicking the icon top left of the timeline 'Import video file' or similar. If this is not the answer to your problem, then please give more details. RFM p. 127 ff, assuming v. 7.nn
