Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
Hi
Click the FX Color Fixer Pro and the program crashes
In addition when I float my mouse over the filters it shows a tip for the wrong filter. Most filters suffering other than the first few.
I then tried resetting the program by re-naming the 20.0 folder.
When first launching the program crashed. Started ok next time.
Filter still crashes X10
Anyone else see this problem?

Re: Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
Just to clarify, do you mean Color Fixer Plus?
This worked OK for me.
Now tried every FX with color in the title. X10 worked Ok on all.

Re: Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
I do not have a Color Fixer Pro but do have Color Fixer Plus.
I also get the wrong popup message when I hover of icons. It seems to depend on where the icon is located in the FX window and also where the mouse is over the FX icon. I only get this happening when I first move the mouse over the FX icons. If I change the FX window size, then all popups are correct.
What is your version number? Mine is 10.1.0.14 (64bit Ultimate) on a W8.1 system

Re: Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
Hi
Thanks guys
I did install some new blue trials, maybe a leftover from those??
My x10 is up to date, but not on the pc at the moment to check version number
Think I will reinstall as I cannot find any reference to the pro filter on my pc, other than showing in fx library
The popup text is now showing ok, don't know what I have done to fix that, but maybe the panel size???

Re: Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
The funny thing is that I cannot find a Color Fixer Pro, only the Plus mentioned by Terfyn. I have also opened all versions of VS going back to X7, and can't find Color Fixer Pro in any of them either.
Just to be sure, I opened another computer with various versions of VS and cannot find Pro there either. So your speculation about a leftover from another package might be correct. Can you go through the NB packages listed under your FX to find out which one might have it?

Re: Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
A similar pattern. Color Fixer Plus goes to Color Swap and there is no Color Fixer Pro in between. Is this a 32Bit image that does not appear in the 64Bit version?
Trevor: Do the other "Color Fix" options work OK?
Discovery
Color Fixer Pro lives in NewBlue Video Essentials V BUT NB Essentials V in X10 only shows one item, a Background Generator - so not the full NB V then.
I now wonder if you would need to buy the full NB Essentials V to make it work? At £45.98 it can wait until Christmas.

Re: Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
Hi
Late to the party - Grandchildren duties.
The Color Fixer Plus (located between Color EQ and Color Melt) works OK here. All mouse over information lines up with the names beneath the icons. No crashes when dragged down to clip on the Timeline. Customizing Filter opens OK, no crashes.
I have installed all the trial versions of the Newblue filters from the link Trevor provided in another post, with the exception of the Newblue Essentials V. This caused problems, now cannot remember what, but I reinstated a previous image of my setup to stabalize my system, so only have the Background filter showing in the cut down NB Essentials V filter, so I do not have Color Fixer Pro available.

Re: Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
Same result as John, have Color Fixer Pro, no problems when dragged to timeline or viewed on edit screen, all mouse overs give correct title

Re: Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
Some years ago I bought NB Essentials packages 1 to 6, and updated them to 64 bit when that became available a few years later. However, I had never installed any of them in X10 because I was happy enough with the NB filters which came with it.
However, I have now installed Essentials 5 and indeed Color Fixer Pro is there. And it works properly. As far as I can see it is identical to Color Fixer Plus apart from the fact that it has a few more presets.
These Essentials packs come with their own serial numbers, and if Trevor does not have that, it could account for the filter not working correctly -- though I would have thought it would demand the SN rather than crashing the program...

Hi
Thanks for the help, I think I may have installed the trial version of essentials 5 and this is left over after uninstalling, John mentions having problems with that trial.
Ken can you tell me where the Essentials 5 was installed to, maybe I can track down the files on my pc.

Hi
Thanks Robert, in addition to the vft_plugin, I was expecting some folders on our pc, maybe in Programs or Program Data that contain the installation of E5
I will look again in vft to see if I can id the file?

Re: Color Fixer Pro crashes X10
Color fixer Pro is part of New Blue V filters...
I had trouble getting these to show up in X10. The filters are in my Vft folder but not present in my FX lib when program is launched.
My work around has been perfect, however.
The V5 filters are present in fx folder in X9, also installed on my PC.
I made a project in X9... and applied each of the V5 filters to jpgs in a project. I saved the project as "NB V5"
I then opened that project in 10. Created a new library called NB V5. Copied and pasted the images from the prOject into that LIB... naming each one, outline, masked tint, selective focus , etc.. all the filters.
Now when i need to use one, i drag one of these images onto the time line. Copy the attributes from this , to the one in my project, and then I can customize. The NB window opens up and voila.
This works perfectly.... fyi... i tried to outsmart the program by saving it to my favorites, under fx and this method crashed the program!! Lol. So for now I use this, and only this filter pack, outside the corel fx lib as I described above.
Sigh... always annoying inconsistencies!!!
