PSPx8 questions

Post by GmMe »

Hi, I installed PSPx8 and ask for help on some details I can not solve.
1- I installed the help off-line (Corel PaintShop Pro X8 Multi-Language Help Package - PSPX8_LocalHelp.exe) but I do not find how to activate and consult it.
2- I do not know how to adjust the image window in the Edit workspace. Let me explain better by referring to the attached screenshot (zCorel-window):
wanting to keep the palettes open on the right, opening a photo this is displayed at the center of the window and a portion is still behind the palettes; I would like to be able to size the work window by reducing it to leave the space for the palettes right, is it possible?
3- Floating, Docking, Auto Hide, Hide alternatives are available for the palettes (allowed anchorage), but can they be locked in the preferred position so that they can not be moved involuntarily?
4- Clicking on Docking opens a window (see zCorel-docking screenshots) with several possible actions, some of which already exist in the File main menu: which is it intended for?
5- Can I change the size of the icons on the various bars (Menu, Tools)?
I thank anyone who has the patience to give me clarifications.

1) Offline help will be used when you're offline and click on the "Help Topics" option in the Help menu. When you're online it'll open the online help options. There is nothing special you need to do to make this work.

2) When you drag a palette you'll see little hover icons appear showing where you can dock the palette. Drag the palette over one of these and it'll immediately snap into position. WHen you hover the palette over another one it'll show options for docking it above or below that palette. When the palette is docked the workspace for the images shrinks to match the available space left over. If you float the palettes like you are in the second photo the workspace expands.

You can turn off tabbed documents which places each image into their own little window and you can move and resize that as another option if you prefer to keep the palettes floating instead of docked.

3) PSP does not have a locking option.

4) That is just the regular main context menu. It's not specific to the palettes.

5) PSPX8 has two sizes for icons, large and small. Use the customize command found in the View menu
View -> Customize

In the customize dialog select the "Options" tab. You'll see a section for Icons. One will say "show small icons" if this is checked then small icons are turned on. If it's not checked then large icons are turned on. If I had to guess I'd say you're using small icons.
