Problem with Plugins in PSP 2018
I am having problems getting my plugins to work in PSP 2018 Ultimate. In particular, I can't get Perfectly Clear 3 to run. When I install Perfectly Clear, it doesn't allow me to pick a plugin folder to download into. I can't find it anywhere on my computer. I've installed it and uninstalled it 3 times. Can anyone help?

Re: Problem with Plugins in PSP 2018
Have you looked in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 (64-bit)\PlugIns\EN ? That's where Perfectly Clear sits in my set-up. It only seems to be in Program Files but not Program Files (86). However, it is there in both the 32 and 64 bit versions of PSP 2018 under Effects > Plug-ins > Athentech.

Re: Problem with Plugins in PSP 2018
I have. I have two folders EN and NL, but mine doesn't even install. A version I got with X8 Ultimate installs fine, until it discovers I removed PSP X8. But the 2018 version asks for permission to make changes to my computer. End off. Can't install Painter either. Send a support request to Corel, but they want in depth reports on my system first and want me to download thirdparty audit programms.
As I am not willing to hand that over, I'm stuck.
BTW I thought Perfectly Clear is 32-bit only?

Well it certainly works in both my 32 bit and 64 bit versions of PSP 2018!

Re: Problem with Plugins in PSP 2018
I was relying on Joseph Lin's post announcing the release of 2018. Here's the quote:Ken Berry wrote:Well it certainly works in both my 32 bit and 64 bit versions of PSP 2018!
• NEW! Perfectly Clear 3 SE: Restore details, color, and other elements lost by your camera with the proven, patented corrections. Create a custom look with robust, time-saving presets that let you control multiple adjustments with just one click -- all without leaving PaintShop Pro. (64-bit only)
And this from the Perfectly Clear Online User Guide, System Requirements:
• Windows 7, 8, and 10 (64-bit only)
However, maybe they all refer to Perfectly Clear v.3 Complete. The Perfectly Clear v.3 that comes with PSP 2018 is the SE version, which means it will not have all of the capabilities of the Complete version (I know that because that was the case of v.2 when it came out).

Re: Problem with Plugins in PSP 2018
I have to now grovel a bit and offer my apologies.
When I opened 2018 x32 and Athentec, I never read the small print. I now see that it is Perfectly Clear 2 and not 3. The 64 bit version is definitely 3. I assume version 2 slipped in as part of the 2018 installation integrating the database of past versions as I have certainly never fiddled around or added anything extra to 2018 (yet!).

No problem.
Just wanted to make sure that we all had the correct info, as it might prevent a flood of unnecessary queries.

Re: Problem with Plugins in PSP 2018
I hope I can "piggyback/hijack" into this post and not start a new one because the subject line is pretty much what I'm going through. I recently upgraded from PSP X3 (because it's not compatible with Windows 10..tried all different things to get it work like others have tried, trust me)....anyways, when I originally installed 2018, I only installed the 64 bit and went on my merry way. I immediately went to File/Preferences/File Locations/Plugins to load my plugins/or point to my plugins I want to load in 2018. Unfortunately, when I attempted to work on something, I went to Effects and looked all the way to the bottom where the plugins would be and there is NOTHING. Now keep in mind, I also installed those "dlls" I read that need to be in either the 32 bit or 64 bit systems folders and still, nothing seemed to worked. After searching different posts in this forum as well as other places, I read somewhere that the plugins I am using are 32 bit and thought maybe I should install the 32 bit version of 2018, so I uninstalled 2018 and reinstalled with the recommended settings and whalla here I am. I opened the 32 bit version and I do NOT see File/Preferences/File Locations....huh, what? I thought....so does anyone know why I am not seeing this? Does the 32 bit not allow us to load or point to the plugins we want to load?
I am at a loss. I did submit a ticket with Corel, but thought I would also ask here since it seems there are plenty of knowledgeable folks here whom are having almost the same issues as I am.
In case you need to know, I am on Windows 10, 64 bit machine and the plugins I installed and trying to load are: Filters Unlimited 2.0, BKG Kaleidoscope, Mura's Meisters, Image Effects (forgive me if I misspelled any).
Oh and NO error messages at all...weird.
I look forward to hearing from anyone, thank you in advance!!

Are you by chance using the Essentials workspace? If so, switch to Complete and see if you now have access to File Locations.Sweeet wrote: I do NOT see File/Preferences/File Locations....huh, what? Re: Problem with Plugins in PSP 2018
You know what I did notice when I closed out of the program and restarted it. It states "You are offline. Some resources are not available" . Do you think this is why I am not seeing that option? If so, how can I be "online"? I logged into Corel's website itself..is that it or is there another place?
I'm new to this 2018 version. I used to use PSP9 and then X3, of course those versions with the other laptop I used to own and not is not compatible with Windows 10...anyways, i'm sounding like a broken record. LOL

Re: Problem with Plugins in PSP 2018
Not sure why it's telling you are offline unless your internet connection went down. Anyhow, it should not make a difference as File Locations are to your local drive.
You could try doing a reset. Here are some instructions. They reference X6 but work the same for PSP2018.

Re: Problem with Plugins in PSP 2018
Ok, spoke too soon...once I tried one of the plugins, it crashed the program..grrrrrrr I was trying to use Mura's Meister Filter....hmmmm I read something about importing to Filters Unlimited 2.0. Should I import all my plugins into that or am I totally misunderstanding that?
