Haven't found that option, apart from the usual share option with Facebook, Flickr and Google+

Zantara - that option is not new. It's meant for the Image Slicer and Image Mapper commands as they produce webpages and you can select the webbrowser you want to use to open the results of those export commands.

When I click on "Watch Video" on the welcome screen it opens in Chrome (my default) on this computer. I'll try it later on my other one.

Yeah I have that set as Mozilla Firefox, but the videos and extra content opens in Internet Explorer. Real pain as I only use that on rare occasions now.

EDIT Just found out that it is not enough to try and make Firefox your default browser in Firefox Options, you also have to do it in Windows 10 through Settins > System > Default Apps.

Seems like hardcoded in Corel programs, CorelDRAW 2017 even does not install without latest IE..

Just tried it on my other computer, and it opens in the default browser "firefox" on that one as well. So unsure as to why it's only opening in Internet Explorer for you.

Hi. Just upgraded. Without problems.

Kerning bug is still not fixed! :(

Justify text does not work. It kinda tries, but fails, resulting in a semi-justified'ish text block, as attached here.

Many text options are now hidden in an extra palette for the palette.

I'll do and pay anything to have the kerning and justify bugs fixed.

File > Preferences > File locations > at the lefthand side Webbrowsers > Click Add on the top right > Find the folder of your preferred browser > find the executable > change the label to the name of your browser.
I showed an example in Dutch earlier in this post, hope that helps a bit.

I use Opera and had no problem pointing PSP to it.

Still not using X9, although I have installed it. The reason? No preferences OR workspace settings are portable to new versions, apparently by policy.

This is an obnoxious choice: most settings and aspects of saved workspaces are relevant to new versions. Every other software I use saves my settings/customization to new versions, somehow dealing with items that are no longer relevant! Of course this is more trouble for the developers, but damn! I would be quite willing to export / save settings to some simple neutral format that the the new version could selectively import as appropriate. How difficult would that be?

I will eventually move to a newer version for "support" but ... trying to record and re-enter preferences and workspace settings every time is a pretty big pain in the kisser

Preferences can be ported using the preferences backup and restore scripts. Only workspaces can't be ported because they rely too heavily on registry values being written a certain way instead of creating a neutral scripting option like you suggest.

But preferences, those can be accessed and updated via scripts inside of PSP.

You can get the scripts here - http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=56858

Thank you this is a big help, but this should really be built into the software! Note the comments distributed with the scripts ("more or less just a proof of concept script. Very simplistic. And very ugly. It comes in two scripts, you have to manually program in the file location in both of them..."). These have to put into two different locations (the old trusted script folder and the new trusted script folder).

And the very fact this can be hacked with a couple of scripts proves my point: it would not be at all hard to do this right: to incorporate this capability into PSP!!!

Still this helps, so thank you!

I thought I had the scripts in a scripts-trusted folder (3 listed in preferences) but got a runtime error that the scripts need to be in a trusted folder. PSP did not seem to honor my preferences re: trusted scripts folders, but got past that after restarting & editing the pathnames.
The problem was due to another long term frustration: it is hard to manage your file locations in Preferences because the windows are small, don't resize, & don't let you scroll horizontally to see the full pathnames of the folders you are trying to manage!!!

Script was helpful, so again: thank you!

I do like to customize my edit workspace with a custom toolbar, no standard toolbar, show the history palette, etc. When I am trying to work, it is a pain to reconstruct my work environment for an upgrades when I don't get any immediate obvious benefits. I am not a photographer, but a digital artist: I scan and manipulate my artwork in Psp, and I have not seen useful new features in the recent upgrades. I don't use any of the extra s/w that keeps getting bundled with upgrades... so I hope that $60 + rebuilding my working environment gets me a faster more stable product for larger files, at least.

Re: PSP 2018 not installing on Win 7 ult

Post by tejasmed »

Support seems to think everyone has Win 10 ... got ticket.. wanted me to take down firewall and make a new administrator.
Last time I did that it crashed the computer...
Called...all busy...said they would get a tech to call.... did not call .

I must have tried about 20 times to install and each time it would be looking for a number file in a Temp file..
It was never there.

Somehow, I decided to try something different.
My system already had a Corel folder on C drive Program files.
So, I made a new folder Corel 2

When the install wanted to assign a new place to put files, I changed the install addr over to the new folder.
This time, the system accepted the install.

I have Several programs in the Corel folder....and it was being confused. In the Corel, there is a PSP 9 and a Corel Video program and several other Corel programs.

Anyway...if frustrated...try it one more time... make a new folder and direct to it. Also, if there is an O in your installation serial...try using a zero instead of an O oh....
Good luck
