PaintShop Pro x9 cloning stopped working

I am not much of an expert with PSP x9, usually use it to tidy up photos. I went to do that today and cloning seems to have stopped working as well as the eraser tool. If I select the cloning tool and right click to select an area to clone, the area selected but won't paste to the area I want to use.

I am not sure if I have done something stupid, or something has affected PSP. Is there a method to "reset" PSPx9 to default?

You can reset PSP by first closing it then holding down the Shift key while re-starting it. That will also reset all of your toolbars to the original PSP configuration, so if you have done some customization make sure that you first have saved your workspace so that you can reload it again.

Thank you for the help. I have reset PSP x9 but still no luck. I have now re-installed PSP x9 (32 and 64Bit). I can't seem to get any tool to work....can't paint, clone or erase. Not sure what is stopping this?

For example, I selected the clone tool , right click on the point to be slected and then go to clone on anotherf part of the image. The process is sluggish and nothing happens.

Any help appreciated.

Pay attention to :
- no selection should be active
- you are on the right layer
- you are in Normal mode
- Step is not set to a value below 10

OK, I have found the problem and it was my stupidity!! I had left the Wacom mouse sitting on the tablet, but was using my other mouse. So I could select items using my desktop mouse, as normal, but painting, cloning etc would not work whilst the other mouse was on the Wacom tablet.

Sorry for my mistake....all is OK now:)
