Cannot install VS-X10 Ultimate (download ver)

Anyone having trouble installing ver-X10 ultimate? I purchased the download version, and the backup disc, but neither will install. Tech help wanted to do a remote connection to install but shouldn't the backup disc fix this? Suggestions appreciated. Oh, I was able to get it to install on an old XP machine but have no plans of using it there. I would like to install it on my Windows 10 machine.

at what stage does the installation stop and what error messages do you get

have you tried using the"run as administrator" option

the back up disc is simply the downloaded programme on a disc - it cannot do any more than the download can do - it has no investigative or restoative abilities - it is just a back up if you are unable to download

With the exception of the one that installed on the XP mchine, the install stops right after I agree to the terms etc. I get a screen that shows a download animation but nothing ever downloads. I does place an empty folder on my desktop however. I have tried installing in every combination of things from running as admin to safemode with networking and disableing all antivirus, vpn and micosoft background programs. I once even let it run overnight, 8+ hours, with no luck. I also used VS10 cleanup to unintall any fragments of the program. Tech help tried but closed the ticket when I didn't agree to the remote install.

What Browser are you using, I just downloaded for my new computer and had no problems using Firefox, try using different browsers, one of them may just work for you. You should have allowed Corel to remote connect to your computer, they are very helpful

I agree with Robert, you approached Corel Support then refused their help.
Help them to help you….It is most likely that the problem is within your computers environment.

Installing the main program requires running the Stub, (Web Installer) an internet connection is required, if your pc is somehow blocking access to the internet then the program will not install.
Yes it may be the software at fault but as it ran ok on XP then I assume it would work on other platforms.

Things I would try
1 / Copy the content from the backup d1sc to a folder on your hard drive.
Try installing from those files.
2 / download the trial version, that will first download the VideoStudio.exe file, maybe a different version? use that file long with your files in (1) above, may install without further downloads, although I suspect that the service pack will be downloaded, you may not be getting that far?

3 / Contact Corel Support and accept their offer of help, they will probably use a small program called Team Viewer to access your pc.
