Hi Skipper
If you have a BD disc player, does that have a USB port?

Re: Blu-ray for VS10
Thanks to those who have contributed to my thread.
Last night I followed the instructions and did a small test using a few random clips, renamed them, applied them to the time line, rendered and uploaded the files to an old USB stick that I had
That seemed to be ok so I took the plunge and did the same to my project
Bingo - it worked, well almost, certainly played on both the LG TV directly and via the Panasonic Blu-ray device, through their respective USB ports using what are now mpg files when I checked
I say "almost" because there are now a number of "shakes" and momentary "freezes" which are not present in the original, nor in the Blu-ray disc copy
The remaining picture was clear and "she who must be obeyed" thought it was sharper than the Blu-ray disc
Correct me if I am wrong but I suspect these artifacts may have more to do with the USB stick than the process, due to the USB being previously used (I did a re-format in FAT32 files so it should have worked)
The device was a commercial catalogue with about 15% of the 8GB capacity used, and I noticed the problems in the video were all in that sector of the video I applied
I also note the "warning" associated with changing file names which indicate instability may result, so that also could be a factor
This morning I intend to purchase a "new" USB2 stick and try it - any thoughts on brands to purchase or stay clear of?

I have rendered my videos to both MPEG-4 and AVC/H.264, downloaded onto a SD card and viewed them through my Panasonic Blu-Ray player. It causes no hangups or glitches with this process.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: Blu-ray for VS10
Hi Skipper
Good that you are making progress and that the boss is happy with the HD playback.
I assume you renamed the m2t to mpg.
You can also try renaming to m2ts as that is used when burning the disc.
I do not know about the playback issue, but being in the same place seems to rule out the video files?
Your TV should have network connections, hard wired and wireless, so you can connect to your home network to share and stream the video direct from the pc. Wireless would have to be fast to get good playback, but something you can try.

Re: Blu-ray for VS10
Trevor, both yourself and Ken have been a great help - much appreciated and thanks for your perseverance!
Yes, I had re-named the m2t files to mpg, (I know how to do that now!) which was the breakthrough but not the end of all issues
Both part one and two of the video are playing back perfectly from a USB3 Flash drive, plugged directly into my TV, but I could just as easily use the socket in the Blu-ray recorder
For some reason part one had some flicker in it so I kept re-trying the render process with different settings until discovering that the + symbol on the share page had some extra tricks like double pass which I then used
A much longer render process but the result was worth it, flicker free and very clear playback from a product that almost anybody could use (USB3 flash drive) as they are so common today
Since it is higher quality than Blu-ray I think my days of burning discs may be drawing to a close? I don't even have a printer that can print the covers anymore, it died six months ago
As for the network, I do already have data cable from the PC through to the lounge wherein the new telly resides so could use that but wanted to be able to share the end product with others away from home
My better half had smiles on her face as she saw the beautiful scenery we shot when travelling though Europe back in 2013, so all's well that ends well
