PSP X8 - very slow loading time
When I start Paintshop Pro X8, it's starts up, but then the little Windows 7 loading icon sits and spins for about 2-3mins. before you can actually do anything with it. I've seen other people complaining about this with various versions, but nothing that fixes it. My PC is plenty fast for this (i7-4770k, 16gb RAM, nVidia 780ti SOC, etc.), so I don't know why it's this slow. My older PC, which is also fast, does the same thing. Does anyone have any idea? Does X9 do this as well?

Re: PSP X8 - very slow loading time
There seems little consensus on a fast fix for faster loading. I have x8 on 3 different computers. An old i3 desktop with Win 7. An old i3 laptop with Win 7 and a newer i5 laptop win Win 8.1. All have the same programs installed. Start up for the first time after starting the computer - 60 seconds for the old i3 laptop. 20 seconds for the old i3 desktop. And 5-7 seconds for the i5 laptop. (Note that once started and running x8 can be closed. The next time it starts up it only takes a few seconds. Provided that the computer is not turned off).
There seems no logical reason for the variations. Different users will give you different answers.

Can anyone who owns X9 say if it starts faster or not? I've used PSP since the first version and never had any problem like this until the last two versions.

Re: PSP X8 - very slow loading time
I just tried with X9 64bit on my machine. First start since last reboot of computer it was ready to go in 18 seconds. Closed it and started it again, and it was ready to go in about 6 seconds.Wraith_3 wrote:Can anyone who owns X9 say if it starts faster or not? Re: PSP X8 - very slow loading time
And FWIW on another old i3 with only 4 GB RAM, I just started a fresh version of X9 in 25 seconds. Closing it and restarting it took 10 seconds.

Re: PSP X8 - very slow loading time
I just did two tests at reopening X9 . One 19 seconds and the other 12 seconds (when I turned the internet off) . Just wondering if PSP always does a phone home before opening or after. Do others experience a variation dependent on their internet speed.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867
