-if you ask to windows explorer to not show the known extension, then PSP do right by replacing the original .jpeg file when you save it as a .jpg
-if you ask to windows explorer to hide the known extensions, then PSP bug and create another file .jpg and do not replace the orginal .jpeg one when you ask PSP to save it
Both the highlighted parts mean the same - in both cases the known extension is not visible. Correction to what you mean please.
thank, sorry for my mistake. i corrected it.
-if you ask to windows explorer to hide the known extension (file type atached to a know installed program) , then PSP do right by replacing the original .jpeg file when you save it as a .jpg
-if you ask to windows explorer to show all the extensions (known & unknow), then PSP bug and create another file .jpg and do not replace the orginal .jpeg one when you ask PSP to save it.
i'm a Paintshop pro user since 1999 on windows 3.11 until now with psp2018 on Win7 X64
psp still add an .jpg image when i open a .jpeg image from internet explorer.
my internet explorer is setup to not show the known extensions and i choose to consider the .jpeg as as unknown (because i don't want to mix up .jpg and .jpeg files).
so again, basicely
i open an .jpeg file from internet explorer (open with psp contexutal menu...)
i do my edition task
i hit save (ctrl+s)
and psp saved it without asking me a confirmation to replace the original.....because it created a new .jpg one (instead replacing the .jpeg file).
