I am getting truly frustrated with PSP X9.
One of the many problems I'm experiencing with it is that I cannot edit the nodes of an ellipse I am working on. I have tried everything including any suggestions I have found in the forum. Nada.
I create the ellipse. I use the pick tool to highlight it. It is on a vector layer. "Show Node" is checked even though the box is greyed out. I pick the Pen tool and click on the "Edit Node" option and I get nothing. I have tried the "Knife Mode". Still nothing.
I went to the layers and clicked to get the sub layer. Here, at least I was able to turn the ellipse into the usual black line outline I'm used to seeing when node editing. But still nothing. All the options for working with nodes are greyed out.
What am I missing?
(Using Win 8.1)
Thanks

Re: node edit not working
The pen tool node options only work on vector paths. The terminology gets a little quirky here. Shapes like the rectangle tool, the ellipse tool, and the symmetric shape tool create specific kinds of vectors that are not considerd the same as a vector path. The preset shape tool's shapes tend to be full paths. If you've created an ellipse with the ellipse tool then it's an ellipse object not a path object. To edit nodes on the ellipse you need to first convert it to a path object.
To do this select the ellipse, then go to Objects -> Convert to path from the menu. Once it's been converted to a path you can use the node edit options of the pen tool.

WOOPEEE. That worked! Thank you for the explanation and the solution!
Yes. I'm excited. I've been batting my head against this problem all morning and the solution is so simple.....once you know how.
