HELP ME OUT: Vote for my video
All:
Not sure if this is allowed, but it is related. I recently used Corel Videostudio X10 to produce a Spirit Challenge submission for the Cleveland Corporate Challenge. I could use your help in voting for our submission. Go to the URL listed, scroll the to bottom and vote for ENTRY #1.
If you'd like to watch the video, pick Entry #1 - Bevcorp. Suggestions are always welcome. As an FYI, I only had about 30 really bad photos to work with.
So, please vote for entry #1. Here's the link

Thanks,

well, once you decide what is your music track but you don't know what transitions to use, you better selected a simple cut.

Re: HELP ME OUT: Vote for my video
Sorry No. This was not a video but a slide show. The bits of video that there were showed massive camera shake in the first one and a mix of smartphone shots. There was massive potential there with all the games but it was not used. A great pity.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: HELP ME OUT: Vote for my video
Damn... tough crowd. I get that the slideshow portion is just that. I didn't have any video of the events to work with, so I had to make do with the crappy photos I was given. But there IS video work there. The titles... using alpha channel overlays and objects, titles, the video frame. There is definitely video work there... but I do get where you're coming from, too.

Re: HELP ME OUT: Vote for my video
there are gazillion ways to use stills.
Have you took a peek in the instant project section of VS?

askik1...
Yes, I briefly looked at them, but none of the topics seemed appropriate for the video I was working on. I'll look at it more closely the next time I have a video to do for the challenge. I mostly do training videos working with two cameras and splicing the views together with annotations to create training modules for a machinery manufacturing company.

Re: HELP ME OUT: Vote for my video
If you have VS Ultimate, then the proDAD Mercalli filter which comes with it is a very good tool for removing most of the shake in videos. The bits of video that there were showed massive camera shake in the first one and a mix of smartphone shots. There was massive potential there with all the games but it was not used.

Re: HELP ME OUT: Vote for my video
I have the Standard version. I tried using Anti-shake in the available filters, but it was (a) ineffective and (b) significantly blurred the video. In the end, I chose to use the shaky video since it was only a 15 second or so, clip.... but, I'll look at the proDad filters and see if it justifies the upgrade. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: HELP ME OUT: Vote for my video
Mercalli takes the central area of the picture and tries to stabilise it. It does work well but would be assisted by using all the optical image stabilisation available on your camera. I have used mercalli on telephoto shots where I have not had a tripod available.
If you have Pro then you may see a green up arrow at the top of the Welcome page. This will take you to an upgrade page for Ultimate, you will also be given a new Serial Number.

Re: HELP ME OUT: Vote for my video
Appreciated. I don't know that anything would have helped that particular video clip, it was SO bad... but, in a strange way it added to the concept... kinda like a Blair Witch thing... except I wasn't trying to make anyone puke
