I have PSP x9 ( build 19.2.0.7 x64 ) running under Windows 8.1 Enterprise.
When trying to add a drop shadow to an item the message 'Command could not complete because the selection type is unsupported" appears with just an OK button.
I've tried this with an existing image and a new one. Also, I have tried changing the selection type, the colour depth, etc.
Any thoughts?

Re: Failure when trying to add Drop Shadow
Could you provide a step-by-step of your procedure, starting with opening a single image in the workspace? And perhaps provide a screenshot of your workspace as it looks after you get the failure so that we can see your toolbar settings? Thanks!

Re: Failure when trying to add Drop Shadow
Sorry about the delay in getting back to this.
I tried the same operation on the same image on another machine running X9 and it worked.
However, it did bring up the box asking if I wanted to make some automatic changes to the colour depth and layer status.
When I went back to the other machine these two auto-action settings were set to 'Never'. Resetting the auto-action settings made it work.
It appears that if the auto-action settings are set to 'Ask' then the message you get describes exactly what needs to be done. Setting auto-action to 'Never' for the required actions results in a cryptic message instead. May be worth adding 'Make error messages consistent' to the next version wishlist?
