Audio distorted once it is exported

Post by rscott22 »

Hey Guys & Gals,

I have been fighting audio issues for months now thinking it was my cameras this entire time. I have tried multiple cameras and high quality RODE mics and nothing would fix it. Well, turns out the issue is my COREL Studio X9 software...

So here is my issue, my raw video/audio sounds perfect. Even when i upload all my video into COREL Studio X9 while editing its sound crystal clear. The issue arises when i export the video the audio becomes distorted and sound pixilated.

Does anyone have any idea what would cause this to happen?

I have attached a screen shot of my settings when exporting and a link to my YouTube video where you can easily hear the distortion. Sadly it wont allow me to add the raw files here so you could hear the before audio.

https://youtu.be/q9p5E79yr0g?t=1m27s

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks,
Ryan Scott

It would be extremely useful before anything else to know what the original format of the audio was on your video before being output to AAC. Can you please right click on one of your video clips either in the VS timeline or the library window and copy ALL its Properties here -- or take a screen shot of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment.

I don't hear distortions in YT, I do hear few pops here and there. but it can be in the raw footage.

I have had the same problems with recording in a car with an action cam. The audio picked up electronic "noise" from the car's system and was useless in the final video. The clicks I can hear on the YT clip seemed to coincide with gear changes otherwise, as asik1 said, a decent audio track.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Hi

I can hear some rattling behind the main audio, listen at various places 2.37, 2.55, 3.08 to 3.25, 3.58

I do not hear any problems with the intro, you speaking before getting into the car.
So yes could be interference as Terfyn mentions

If you upload the original video to YT without editing in Video Studio, do you still hear those noises

The pops are in the raw footage also, the issue is the distortion it's by far the largest complaint I get on all my videos I make. I can hear it very clearly on my phone or with headphones on.

This is the third issue I've had with Corel studio now, this is my last attempt at making this right and hoping I have no more issues. I may have to pony up and just buy Final Cut Pro.

The rattling is my after market short shifter. The noise I am talking about is when in the car and cursing down the road or my father just driving the audio is very distorted. The raw audio does not have any of that noise what so ever.

I can get all this infor for you tonight! Thank you for the help.

I can also upload the raw video footage to my YouTube account and you can compare and see what I am talking about it, it's clear as day when you compare the videos.

Hi
Are you able to upload your video to a sharing site, Google drive, One drive or Drop Box seems popular

We can download and try on our pc,s

To be honest I do not hear any problems with distortion when viewing YT?
A few clicks here and there but overall the sound seems ok

Yes, I can absolutely do this for you and upload tonight. I will also take screen shots of the properties of my raw video.

I think once you hear raw VS exported you'll hear it much more dramatically.

Thanks for that. But unfortunately a VSP file does not contain the video itself. It is merely a small text file which tells Video Studio what video is in the project, where it is stored and what editing has been done to it. What we really need is the whole project, including the vsp file and the included video. To do this you need to make a Smart Package and upload that...

Hi Ryan

There are other video files used in that project which we do not have.
The two provided are quite large, have downloaded the smallest so far.

How large are these four missing files?
I had thought that the free sharing sites had a file limit of 2 Gb, maybe that’s changed
I am downloading the 4 Gb now?

These are the additional files used in your project.
PureFunction.mp4
PureFunctionmp4_2.mp4
GOPR0239.MP4
GOPR0240.MP4

Already uploaded
GOPR0241.MP4 4GB
GOP0241.MP4 2GB I have downloaded this file.

Creating a Smart Package may help in organising the project clips, but zipping that as a single file is gonna be very large?

What I may just do to make this even easier is up load a 1 minute clip that has been exported and then a 1 minute clip of the raw in edited video.

You'll be able to see it easier that way and a true side by side comparison. I was just trying to show that the raw video has me weird feedback anywhere at all. While the exported video on my YouTube channel has horrible feedback and distorted noise. when watching on a phone or with headphones in it's really bad.
