PSP X9 System Requirements

I purchased and downloaded X9. It installed OK but would crash on startup. Tried everything I know, but could not get it to run. I opened a ticket with Corel and for a week we traded messages. They would give me instructions to make it run; I would follow the instructions, but it would still crash at startup. Finally they logged on to my computer and tried to make it run. No success, so the Tech moved the ticket up the chain. Then I received a message indicating my system was not adequate to run the program. I simply do not have the knowledge to evaluate their response. I've never had a problem with the computer and it runs many, many programs including video editing , spreadsheets etc. I am not trashing Corel, I just would feel better if someone with the right knowledge would verify their response. I am posting the response below with a request that if any of you can help evaluate it I would be grateful. Thanks, John

I think your graphics and CPU should be sufficient. A 3GHz dual core should be fine.

The graphics driver being out dated is nonsense. presumably it is the latest graphics driver available for your system or else windows would have updated it.

So that only leaves the ram. do you happen to know how much ram you have? It will be of the order of 512MB to 4GB

I would suggest asking for a better /different "expert". I think their answer is a copout.
I have a Toshiba M300 laptop which is at least 8 years old and it runs X9. One of the drivers (battery associated ) is from 2006. Reviews from 2008.
It only has a 2.2 GHz processor, and 3 Gb RAM.

Arlene has a 3.0 GHz processor so it is a fairly modern machine. So the suggestion to install to a newer computer is a poor excuse from the "Expert".

I think the basic problem is that the expert is not trying to offer support so much as they are trying to clear the problem out their inbox.

Thanks to all of you for the responses. If I told you all of the foolishness I have gone through with their "tech experts" you would not believe it. After three different experts and goodness knows how many emails etc I just finally gave up. Their experts actually gave me completely different answers on different Tickets. None of their suggestions worked and I finally just gave up and got a refund from them (no argument from them).
Since I was just trying to move up from X5 I decided to install X7. X7 is without doubt the king of buggy software. It actually does not work as well as the X5 that I used for many years. Needless to say I am not going to ask their experts for help! Nor will I ever purchase another Corel product.

X7 has worked fine for me for a long time. Not sure what bugs you're referring to....
