What will be named a new PaintShop Pro "X10"?
Somebody know if there is continuous numbering from X9 to X10 for PSP as for VideoStudio?

What is so important about knowing what it will be called until the time it has actually been released?

Ken I guess if you were writing a book, tutorial or other document it would be nice to know what the next version would be called. One less change to make if and when is is released.

Yes, that's a good point. But I guess Radim would need to ask Corel directly...

Re: What will be named a new PaintShop Pro "X10"?
I would assume that it will be called 20 - no X. Since X is roman numerals for 10, they have gone through the teens. For example X7 means 17, X8 means 18, X9 means 19. I'm just guessing but when you speak about X9 I refer to it as 19 so would make sense the next version is 20.

Check the history of Videostudio here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corel_VideoStudio
If Corel is consistent my bet is X10 similar to Videostudio X10.
Having the X in the name gives a feeling of mystery and possibilities as in some of the earlier planes and spacecraft although the X there applied to eXperimental craft.
Do we feel that Paintshop Pro is still in Experimental stages?

And what about "Paintshop Pro Supreme" or "Paintshop Pro Essential" or "Paintshop Pro Xtra" ? If it were Apple, we could see Leopard, Safari, etc...

I asked someone at Corel last year or so, wondering if they would go with XX, and he said no, that they were going straight to XXX !

Re: What will be named a new PaintShop Pro "X10"?
Mmm Paintshop Pro the XXX version !!!! Wonder if that would increase sales ?
Perhaps a hint from the new Painter 2018 being offered now - Paintshop Pro 2017 or a delay in release to early january so they can call it Paintshop Pro 2018???

Unless they name it like they do cars, then they don't have to wait.

Re: What will be named a new PaintShop Pro "X10"?
Looks like they have three options: X10, 20, or XX.
I think they have already set a precedent with VideoStudio and went with X10 on that product. So almost 100% that it will be X10.
We'll know for sure in a few months, when they release it.

Frankly i'm amazed that they are breaking the pattern with video studio. maybe it's a place holder or something?
