Removing dust spots

Post by mikeandm »

Hi,
Is there a filter available in VS10 that is capable of removing dust spots from a video?

If the dust spots are very small, perhaps a "denoise" filter may work. If the dust spots are large, try blur filter. If the video is not too long, converting it to separate frame photos and then editing each photo frame in Photoshop or some such program and reassembling the multiple frames back to video? These are all ideas, some may not be practical.

Hi,
thanks for the reply, unfortunately it occurred whilst travelling in Africa and I recorded 30 minutes before I realised the problem. The best I have been able to come up with is to use the "Logoaway" filter in VirtualDub. It does work to an extent, I was just hoping I might have been able to do it in Videostudio.
