Could someone please remind me how to add video clips en masse from a library folder to the timeline.
Every time I select the range (left click first clip and then hold down shift and then left mouse click on last clip) and then drag to the timeline (move mouse pointer to one of the highlited clips and then press and hold left mouse button and drag to the time line) something happens (the mouse pointer changes to an hour glass and there is a window which displays each clip's file name as it loads them) but NOTHING gets into the timeline.
I can drag single clips to the timeline but not a group.
I think I may have asked this same question a couple of years ago but can't find the answer.
Thanks

Re: Addings video clips to timeline VS6
Hi John
Strange what you describe should work.
What type of clips are you dragging?
Are you selecting different types, a mix of clips.
Deselect the library view to show just the type you are moving, then try
Otherwise with the clips selected, try right click for "Inert to"
If there is no options available then you are selecting different types. I suspect????

Re: Addings video clips to timeline VS6
Hi Trevor
I was trying to drag video clips ONLY and I have the library selected and the video clips symbol selected and none others (eg not audio and not images selected) so NOT a mixture.
BUT it now seems I have been able to do what I wanted ...
I started to experiment including starting a new project and dragging the same group of video clips onto the time line which worked (I am currently trying to add more video clips to an existing project)
I also experimented with releasing the left mouse button as soon as I dragged the mouse from the selected video clips onto the timeline and also holding the left mouse down and waiting.
While I did the latter the mouse pointer turned into a symbol which looks like a black round line with a 'stroke' through it (a bit like your national speed limit sign but with the 'bar' through it at a different angle) and I waited and waited and waited then eventually the time line showed the video clips just as a white area. I then released the mouse button and after quite a while the clips appeared.
So it seems the left mouse button must be held down until you notice the timeline for video turn white and the release the left mouse button. I have no idea though why it took so long as I have 8GB 1600 RAM, an i7 3.4Ghz processor and lots of free disk space. I didn't notice the 'disk activity led' flashing much so didn't think that the delay was caused by disk activity and none of my disks are fragmented.
As I mentioned before I thought that I had always done this the same way and that it didn't take as long before. Anyway I'm 'moving' again.
Thanks
