Hello!
I am a VS 8 SE DVD newbie. As an old linear editing, Adobe Premiere and Speed Razor user, I must say that I think VS 8 is simply incredible. I was truly not expecting such a neat product. Kudos to Ulead!
I'm having a bit of a problem, though. I've got a video that is just under an hour long, with a couple of transitions, a narration track and a music track. Oh, and a bunch of titles.
Everything is great until I go to "Share" my completed video. No matter which of the three options I try (disk, Video_TS or .iso), the software gets 99% complete, then shuts down.
I've tried turning all of the other running software off. I don't have Nero InCD.
Win XP
Dell Dimension 3000
Plextor ConvertX (which is simply incredible!)
...so I don't have a fancy machine and there's not a lot of stuff on it. Please let me know if I need to provide any further system information. Oh, I'm not getting any error messages (VS 8 just keels and shut down instantly) and I've installed all of the patches that I could find on Ulead.
Thank you very much for your time and have a great day!

Take a look at the "Recommended Procedure" post that is pinned at the top of the forum. Try to follow it to avoid pitfalls.
You may want to have UVS output an ISO file instead of attempting to burn directly to disk. This is in case some other software that is installed on your system (packet writing / drive letter access programs like Nero InCD and Roxio Drag-To-Disc) are interferring with UVS' attempts to access the drive.
Once you have the ISO file, you can burn it using the Ulead VCD / DVD disk image burning utility that is on the same menu as UVS, or you can use any other disk burning program you may already have installed.

I note that you have already tried the ISO and Video_TS route Torsten suggested, with no luck. Does VS produce any kind of file when it keels over? If so, have you played it through and are there any errors or bits missing? I ask because others have had a similar problem but nonetheless produced a perfect file at that 99%/keel-over point.

Dear Torsten and Ken,
Thank you SO much for your very quick replies. Torsten, unfortunately, I have had no luck creating a .iso file. Ken, your suggestion was right on. UVS did apparently create an entire Video_TS. When I play it, the video is complete! There appears to be several dropped frames and it skips quite a bit, but my feeling is that the ConvertX just didn't capture very well. So, I will try to get a DVD out the Video_TS files (not sure if I can do that).
I was also able to create an MPEG out of the whole thing. Maybe if I add it into an empty Create Disc...I'll give that a try.
I will review the Recommended Procedure sticky, too.
Thanks again and if you guys think of anything else, I would really appreciate it! You're the best!
