Corel VideoStudio X9 Install Failure

As the title suggests, I am having an issue with the installation of VS9 Ultimate x64. This is a new system I built just a few weeks ago. I've had no issues with anything until now. The operating system is Windows 10 Pro x64, version 1703, build 15063.413. The specfic message reads, "We encountered a problem while installing. Please contact technical support." I did so and received a reply containing many links to other sites. It was of little use.

I did some digging on my own and found two unique items in the Windows log files. The first were two instances of Event ID 1015, MsiInstaller, Failed to contact server: Error: 0x8007043C. Next was Event ID 11719, MsiInstaller, Product Setup -- Error 1719: Windows Installer service could not be accessed. Contact your support to verify that it is properly registered and installed.

I checked the Ethernet drivers and found them all current. I do not know where to go with this now. If anyone has any ideas, please pass them on.

It does seem like a conflict regarding your internet connection and the Corel Server.
How were you installing the program, running the WebInstaller or a manual install.
I know X10 does not allow a manual install, we have to use the Web Installer, but I think ok for X9.

First run the Cleanup tool to remove any files left over from your installation attempts.

Now try installing the program from
Your download files \64bit\Ultimate
Double click the Setup.exe file to start installation.

It is possible that your download files are corrupt, don’t know why though!
To download again run the Web Installer

Choose a new download folder
Select to download only
Deselect Do not Download Installed programs, (I think its called)

Choose to download the Main program only, you can always download the other packages later.
Now try installing from that new folder, double clicking the Setup.exe

This is not a download. I ordered it from Amazon on a DVD. So, this is a manual install from the disc.

I also came to the conclusion that this is an internet connection issue. I find it strange that this is the first time it's given me any kind of problem. It is a DSL connection. I have access to the routers coniguration and I may look at that to see if anything may be relevant. However, there is a lot in there I do not understand.

I suppose I could try the web installer and see if it would work that way.

Hi

Even so the DVD boxed version requires an internet connection to install the program if you try installing using the WebInstaller.
The file is called Video Studio.exe or similar name at 10 Mb ish, quite small.
Running that will / may download additional files, I am sure of that.

But you should be able to install by clicking the Setup.exe within the Ultimate or Pro folder
That will install the basic program.

I would copy the disc contents to my hard drive and install from those files, just incase there is a problem reading the files from disc during installation.

I found a setup file in the '64 Bit\Ultimate' folder. It installed without issue. The one I tried to use was in the parent folder and titled 'VideoStudio.'

So, now it's on to picking through the updates. I have four saved here on an external HD. I see a fifth which can be downloaded. Perhaps, sometime these can all be put together as a single cumulative package.

Please do not manually instal any service packs

Allow the program to prompt you to install updates.

Now that the main program has installed, run the WebInstaller again to install any other bonus packs

I haven't done any manual updates this time around. I use the 'Check for Updates' in the 'Help' menu.

This is not my first install and my product is already registered. How do I stop the registration screen from appearing everytime I start it?

When the registration panel shows you should insert your e-mail address, the one you used originally, also the same address for your Corel account.

The registration prompt should not show after that.

No, I am not. I completed it once before prior to building this new computer. That was on an older HP workstation.

If you hadn't installed X9 on your old computer, it is necessary to complete the registration process on your new computer. Putting in your normal email address and pressing OK will send the necessary registration details to Corel to link the product to your email for future reference.

It does seem very strange that every time we re-install the program that we have to register again.
CVSX9 will however allow the program to run if we ignore the panel.

I can understand Corel’s point of view when combating piracy.

CVSX10 goes further….. re-installing that program will not allow us to run the program until we register.
