black border with customize motion, vs X9
When I attempt to customize motion on a chroma keyed and cropped clip, the image does what I want but there is a black border around 3 sides of the clip. All border controls are set to zero.

at what point in the process does the black border appear - I suspect it is appearing when you crop the video - you may not see it if you have the background for the preview window set to black
which of the options are you using to crop the videos - if you are using the 'cropping' filter from the FX library then you need to untick 'Fill color' at the bottom of the customisation window

Brian, I am using the cropping filter. I changed the background color to my greenscreen green because that's (to my knowledge) what I need to do to make that area transparent. The black line follows the original clip border: "crop" seems not so much to be cutting anything as just allowing me to render invisible the parts of the clip I don't want.

If Fill Color is unticked the uncropped part of the clip expands to fill the dimensions that it had before it was cropped. Nor what I want at all!

But then if you are using Customise Motion that can set your sizes to your liking?aehni wrote:If Fill Color is unticked the uncropped part of the clip expands to fill the dimensions that it had before it was cropped. Nor what I want at all!

Trevor -- when I do that the position of the clip shifts and it will not select so that it can be moved, let alone have its aspect ratios changed.

Hi
Customise motion is very versatile and can position, spin, move, fade, resize our clips.
Like FX filters works using Keyframes, add a keyframe and change the settings.
Some keyframes allow us to copy to other keyframes, right click a keyframe for copy and paste options, quite useful.
Other FX filters will not show the copy option, but Ctrl+ C and Ctrl + V can be used.
I have attached a Smart Package, a sample of what can be done.
First I added a clip to the overlay track and chose to fit to screen, or fit to height?
Then I applied the Cropping Filter, yes deselect Fill Colour. Ok to that
The crop shows as full screen
Now I applied customise motion, view the settings associated with each keyframe.
There are other options, the FX Picture in Picture can be used, but may require the Chroma Key to remove borders. use the MaskFrame, there is a full mask towards the bottom of the list that works well.
That mask may remove those lines you refer to ????
