I'm still having an issue installing plugins. However I've been looking on Youtube to find a tutorial that shows how to do it where I can understand the instructions. I found one. But what he's saying to do isn't working for me for some odd reason. I"ve got the 64 bit version because that's what my computer is.
In the video he says to right click and click on Extract All. But when I do that I don't see that option. I even uninstalled Winzip and tried it and still didn't see that option. (I didn't use the plugin he used in the example I used a different one) So did I do something wrong or what can i do to remedy this issue ?. Thank you.

Re: Winzip (what does this mean ?)
Are you talking about having the 64bit version of WinZip? Guess what - it doesn't matter that you have a 64bit computer because you can install 32 bit versions of PSP and WinZip and other programs on that computer. That's why your system drive (usually Drive C) has a folder called Program Files (into which 64bit programs usually get installed) and Program Files (X86) which is where 32bit programs usually get installed.gagejennifer wrote:I'm still having an issue installing plugins. And you STILL HAVEN'T SAID WHETHER OR NOT YOU INSTALLED THE 32BIT VERSION OF PSP AS YOU HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO DO! If you don't reply to the questions you are asked, and follow the instructions you are given, you aren't going to succeed. It's as simple as that.
That's because that option likely doesn't exist in your version of WinZip. Use the option "Extract to Here". That will extract the zipped files into the same folder that the zip file is in, which is what I told you to do twice now. Then you copy the extracted files and paste them into the folders in which they belong as previously instructed.gagejennifer wrote:In the video he says to right click and click on Extract All. We are trying to help you in this forum, but if you aren't willing to try the instructions we give you and then report, step by step, each of those things you have tried and the result, I'm not sure that the help we are trying to provide can be successful.

Re: Winzip (what does this mean ?)
I forgot about that JoeB. Yes I'm using the 64 bit version. When I got the program and installed it it said it was recommended to install both the 64 and 32 bit versions. So that's what I did even though my computer is a 64.
I'm sorry to be a bother really. I've just never had this much difficulty with the plugin issue before. I even had my son try to do it and he was unsuccessful. The only one that has been successful at installation is the Google Nik effects.
As for Winzip I just installed what was on their site that it said to download / install. It was never that hard in previous versions of that program either. He even asked me if all the plugins were supposed to go in the Google Nik folder. I said No.
It is very strange at this point. But like he pointed out "It's probably something simple you aren't doing that when you finally DO do it mom, you're going to kick yourself for it. " lol. He may be right.
I know I have a 64 bit. I don't know how to install anything in the 32 bit version. I assume all the instructions would be the same. I don't know. But this has me confused and wondering. lol.
Again thank you for the help JoeB. I do appreciate it.

Re: Winzip (what does this mean ?)
I went back and did as you instructed using the Copy and Paste function. For what ever reason the plugins are not showing up in PSP still. (I tried the vm natural sparkle plugin and that did not work.)

Jean-Luc thank you for reminding me to check in the 32 bit version. I did just that and yes I was able to see the VM Natural Sparkle plugin in the 32 bit version. So this brings to mind the question how do you tell which plugins only work in what version (32 or 64 bit version) or is there even a way to tell ?. I know silly question. Thank you again for the help and again sorry to be a bother.

Re: Winzip (what does this mean ?)
This thread seems to be drifting to cover the same problem as in your other thread when all you asked about was what Winzip was.
As Joe has mentioned and I do similar.
When I have files to unzip I place the zip file in a folder on the desktop which I call UNZIP
Then I use right click on the zip file and Extract here. This is because sometimes the zip files of filters come with a text file with instructions and I don't want to put them all in my plugins folder.
Now I am going back to the original thread to explain the obvious.

Re: Winzip (what does this mean ?)
Some authors of old plugins don't correct them to work with 64bit programs. Those plugins only work on 32bit programs. It is not Corel responsability. Recent plugins are now written for 32bit and 64bit programs. You may ask to the plugin's author if he has updated his plugin.gagejennifer wrote:Jean-Luc thank you for reminding me to check in the 32 bit version.
