PSP X9 - can't apply edits to multiple photos
I'm giving PSP a shot; trying to wean myself from Adobe, but I need to now that PSP has basic functionality. I dutifully followed the directions from http://help.corel.com/paintshop-pro/v19 ... hotos.html to record then apply edits to multiple photos. When I apply the recorded edits, the result is way past terrible; it's an unrecognizable file/photo. Is this a known bug? Is there a trick to getting it to work? Are there better directions somewhere? If I can't get it to work, I can't use PSP. Thanks.

You are probably better off to use scripts which are similar to actions in Photoshop.
In Edit mode, load an image , set up your script toolbar View > Toolbars > Script and the script toolbar will appear.
At its left you will see a small text box with a script name inside. To the right a white down arrow and clicking on that will show a lot of pre made scripts. Try a couple of those on some test photos to see if it provides what you require.
You can also go on to record your own set of scripts and save them and use them in a batch process on many other images.
Levifiction is the script guru and he will be able to help you with more complex scripts and editing those to do wondrous things.
Also at the top of the Paintshop Pro forum is a side group on PSP Scripting and a quick browse through that will show you what complexities PSP Scripts are able to achieve.

What editing are you doeing? It is perhaps specific to a photo and will give bad results on a different photo. For example, if you apply a darkening on a photo and apply the edit on a photo which doesn't need a darkening, result will be inappropriate.milocat125 wrote: When I apply the recorded edits, the result is way past terrible; it's an unrecognizable file/photo.

Re: PSP X9 - can't apply edits to multiple photos
Thanks to both hartpaul and jean-luc for your responses. I looked and it seems that you're right, the scripts might be the way to go. If it's simple, I'll use them. But to be honest, it's two keystrokes in Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop. As for the edits, I have a bunch of nearly identical underwater shots; some taken only a couple of seconds apart. So I apply color correction and sharpening to one, then apply it to others, and the results are fantastically bad ... like a two-color black/green blob. Will try scripts. thx.

What kind of images are you working with - RAW by any chance? I'm not sure how well PSP would apply edits to RAW. I use Corel's AfterShot Pro for initial processing of RAW, output in jpg or tiff and use PSP on those if needed.

Once you record a script, if you have several similar images to edit (like you say, several shots taken seconds apart), you can then use the Batch process to apply that same script to dozens of images in one process. Maybe that would save you time.
