Hi. I'm a little worried. My X9 project is complex with audio coming from two video tracks, a voice track and two music tracks. I edited with headphones and now that the result is on youtube, the overall volume seems really low.
Audio ducking wasn't used. There are instead lots (in fact mostly) audio fade ins and outs. Any way to adjust the master volume of the project up before re-rendering? In the sound mixer, the waveforms have very little amplitude.
If not, is there anything easier than manually adjusting the 89 volume controls that were added to all of the media? I really need advice with this. https://youtu.be/S-omqlPcmIY I'm told that the music can't be heard at 2:10. I'd greatly appreciate any guidance.
Change project master volume?

Hi
Yes it does seem quite low volume, the lady speaking at 2:30 also appears to be out of lip sync, slightly??
Did you reduce the volumes on the timelines?
What clip/video type was used at 2:10 where the volume disappears. If MP3 try converting that to Wav?
Ok
If you insert an audio cd to your pc drive, play that and adjust your speaker volume to the correct level.
When you play your project is the sound level acceptable.
We can adjust volume of multiple clips, using Ctrl+ A will select all clips, or Shift + Click to select adjacent clips, right click your selection for Adjust Volume.
If you have set the sound Mixer you can choose Reset Volume, that will set the original levels.
You may be best to save the project again, File Save As giving it a new name, then if you mes up you have the original project to fall back on.

Re: Change project master volume?
Thanks for helping! At 2:10, the clip was MOV, but with the sound split and removed. The music playing at that point (which is too low) is an auto music track.
If I try "adjust volume" of multiple clips will it preserve the existing fades?
The volume of the overall video on any device is low compared to CD playback.

Re: Change project master volume?
When more than one media item is selected, mixer volume adjust does not seem possible. When one item is selected, the existing volume controls are eliminated.
Multi-selected items do not respond to right-click volume adjusting.
Is this the same issue that was posted for X6? http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50458
Does anyone have an alternative approach? I really need to get this project completed for these nice people.

As far as I know this is the only option to adjust the volume level of several adjacent clips.
I believe this option was first used in X9.
Can you confirm you are using CVSX9, the latest is CVSX10

Re: Change project master volume?
I really appreciate your time here. Firstly, the right-click volume adjust is in fact working. Not sure but it was surely something I did. Sorry about raising this issue. I am really new at this.
Regarding fades, I was attempting to raise volume for a clip from 100 to 200% and was concerned that the fades would be lost. Once raised volume is applied, a new light blue horizontal line appears (in a clip in mixer mode) above the regular volume and existing controls on that clip.
I assumed that the new line (not showing fade controls) meant the adjustment was resulting in a raised but flat volume (controls removed). On the first audio clip I tested (which used the preset fade-in and out), it seems that the effects were lost, though they show and are still selected in the attributes area.
Now that I am experimenting, all of the manually created fades remain intact after volume adjusting. I'm still experimenting, but thinking that I can just remove and reapply the standard fades after changing a clip level.

Re: Change project master volume?
You were probably playing the single clip back in Clip mode -- see the Clip/Project buttons just below the preview screen. "Clip" plays the video and audio in their original, unedited state. Playback in Project mode plays both video and audio with the edits that have been applied, including fade.Nick Mirro wrote:On the first audio clip I tested (which used the preset fade-in and out), it seems that the effects were lost, though they show and are still selected in the attributes area.

Re: Change project master volume?
Hi Nick
No worries, I did check the adjust volume was also available when in Sound Mixer, that was my only concern.
I do not normally bother with the sound mixer but adjust the 100% option and set the fade ramps from the Options – Attributes tab., via F6 Preferences we can set the fade default duration to our desired length.
Did you manage to adjust the volume levels to a suitable level.
The silent section seemed a little strange as did the slight Out of Sync???

Okay that's good to know about clip mode
Thank you! Think I got the volume problem worked out.
After this first serious project, I'm left completely awed by VS. I was thinking of switching to a something considered more 'pro,' but I can't think of a thing VS can't do. So glad to have stayed with it! https://youtu.be/MoReKqKnq08
