Beware of Perfectly Clear Upgrade offer on "Get More Page
I upgraded to Paint Shop Pro 9.0 a few months back. Included in the deal was a Special Edition version of a photo editing software package called Perfectly Clear. I played around with this software and really liked what it could do to photos with a minimum of fuss. At the time, the full feature version of this software was version 2.0. The Special Edition version lacked some of the functionality of the full version. Anyway when I opened Paint Shop Pro yesterday and looked at the "Get More" page, I saw that Corel was offering what they were advertising as the complete 2.0 version of Perfectly Clear at a good price. This made sense because I had read that the publishers of this software just came out with the 3.0 version so I figured a discount was being offered on the previous version. I purchased and downloaded what was being advertised as the complete 2.0 version of this software. When I installed the software, I was disappointed to see that it was NOT the full feature 2.0 version. Evidently Athentech, the publishers of Perfectly Clear came up with an "upgrade" to the free Special Edition software I got for free with Paint Shop Pro 9.0. This is the "upgrade" I got for my money. The interface is identical to the free version and there is in additional functionality from the free version. I have notified both Corel and Athentech and asked either for the complete 2.0 version of Perfectly Clear or my money back. I have not heard from either company yet so I don't yet know how this will play out. I'm posting this as an alert to any other Paint Shop Pro users who are considering getting this "upgrade" that what is advertised by Corel is not what you will be getting. I've uploaded an attachment showing what was being advertised on the Corel "Get More" page.
