X9 SP5 is a disaster, can't rollback.
The Service Pack 5 for X9.5 is a UI disaster, resetting my settings to everything every single time I start it up. Tried to rollback to SP3/4 but I keep getting the error "installed version cannot be determined, setup will now terminate".
This is ridiculous! Also tried reinstalling the X9.5 update, didn't work either.

Hi
The only way to remove any Service Pack is to re-install the whole program.
Then install service packs manually, otherwise the auto updates will do it for you.
Can you explain what settings are being reset?
Not heard that this has been reported in the past.
Before you reinistall can you try resetting the workstation to its default state by re-naming the folder “19.0 to 19.0_old”
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\19.0
More details here

All of them. Window position, UI, collection settings (default collection Vs my own collection), preferences.lata wrote:Hi

Hi
Did you try resetting the program by re-naming the 19.0 folder?

Had the same effect as simply restarting this disaster. I have to set everything all over again.lata wrote:Hi

Hi
I've had a couple of issues with X9 & X10 hanging when using certain transitions. Corel Support were very helpful assisting in reaching a solution. I used the "chat" interactive service.
Similar to your problem, the Boris Graffiti plugin/filter in X10 Ult keeps resetting to the default layout - very frustrating. The user defined Workspace layout is available, but it is a nuisance having to keep changing to that when you start Graffiti.

Hi
Are you referring to the UI Layout?
Or your preferences F6.
Can you provide a screen shot of your set up?
Have you installed the program to its default C:Drive location?
The user details are saved here
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\19.0
If that folder is read Only then your settings will not be saved, clutching at straws here?

Both preferences and UI layout. And I'm using x32 version because the codecs I want to use don't support x64. The folders revert back to ReadOnly even after I've taken ownership. And it's all still focked.lata wrote:Hi

Forget it, I'm reinstalling. They can shove their SP5 where the sun don't shine.

Hi
Well the problem has not been reported before, I wonder if it’s the 32 bit program issue.
I did not realise you were using that as your profile shows 64 bit.
Yes please re-install the program, and if the problem persists I will install the 32 bit to see if I can replicate this

Re: X9 SP5 is a disaster, can't rollback.
Hi
I have installed CVSX9 32 bit version.
The web installer downloaded the latest version CVSX9.5 which installed ok
I have no problems with my settings changing.
I was prompted to install the service pack 5
In launching the program my workstation showed the new Welcome Screen
Selecting Edit showed the UI but was wrong, displaying the library vertically, that squashed the timelines, this also happened with the 64 bit program.
However hitting F7 to set the UI to default cured that.
The UI now looks normal
Settings – Preferences (F6) have not changed other than the addition of the Welcome Screen options which have squashed the display into Media Library Animation.
Here I choose Edit to show when launching the program
Your F6 screen should look like this, but for X9, allowing you to see the “default startup page”, yes that may confuse things??????

Re: X9 SP5 Welcome and UI layout issues
The update messed up my whole layout and it drove me nuts, but I went to Settings, Layout Setting, Switch To, DEFAULT; and it put everything back to the way I like it. But I still hate how the program starts to the WELCOME Screen. Wish I could I set it to start back to the EDIT screen like it was before.
I'm sorry for my sins Jesus, please forgive me. https://sorryformysins.com

Re: X9 SP5X9 SP5 Welcome and UI layout issues
go to f6 Preferences, view my image above / below, change the Default start Up Page option, jungleexplorer wrote:The update messed up my whole layout and it drove me nuts, but I went to Settings, Layout Setting, Switch To, DEFAULT; and it put everything back to the way I like it. The panel is a little squashed, but floating the mouse will reveal the Welcome word, choose Edit
I also had difficulty with the layout as F7 did not work till I dragged one of the panels to re-arrange, then F7 reset ok.
