Re: Moving object blurs badly after rotating image.
Hi
Was the Rotation through 180 degrees accomplished using the Rotate Filter? If not, how?
Why is the original footage upside down?
Have you got another method of rotating the original footage? Eg FFMPEG

Never experienced this using the 'Rotate Left' or 'Rotate Right' buttons on the Video tab. Is this how you rotated the video?JimTrail wrote:Moving object blurs badly after rotating image

The post above excluded the two images below. It also excluded my description of the problem.JimTrail wrote:Hello Forum;

It's not the moderators fault.
It's this forum software. It does not work very good. I am familiar with phpBB. It's open source. I've uploaded phpBB to a server hosting I have had in the past. The programmers don't get paid. Corel needs to get a better software program, like vBulletin maybe, for the forum.
Description of the problem
I have got a LG Nexus 5x Android phone. I took the video with the phone. I have got an app for the video camera. It's called "Cinema FV-5." For some reason it records the video upside-down. Other than that it works great.
When I rotate the video right-side-up the person in the video blurs when he moves. I am trying to figure out how to keep it from blurring. The video doesn't blur when I leave it upside down.
I have been using CorelDraw since the late 1990's decade. I have a yearly subscription to CorelDraw.
Corel designed the CorelDraw program from scratch. It improves and gets more sophisticated with each release. I prefer to use a Corel product since I am already familiar with the company.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks.
These are the two images I uploaded on the first post per the instructions at this link:

Re: Moving object blurs badly after rotating image.
Hello John;
Thanks for responding.
There are a limited number of apps for video cameras for Androids like mine. Other than the video being upside down everything else is nice. It's easy to use. I like it a lot.
Thanks again.

I rotated it using options -> rotate left/right arrows. I couldn't figure out how to use the Rotate Filter.MrJohnny wrote: Was the Rotation through 180 degrees accomplished using the Rotate Filter? If not, how?
It's upside down because of an app I have got for my Android. It's called Cinema FV-5. I think the developer meant for it to be that way. I don't know the reason.MrJohnny wrote: Why is the original footage upside down?![]()

WOW! I'll check out that FFMPEG.MrJohnny wrote: Have you got another method of rotating the original footage? Eg FFMPEG

Yes, I used the Rotate Left and Rotate Right buttons. It could be the app I am using is not doing something right.
Thanks again.

Re: Moving object blurs badly after rotating image.
Hi Jim
The programme supplied with the phone, can it rotate?
The frame rate looks odd - but the duration/fps do line up to suggest a fixed frame rate, can you confirm - say use MediaInfo to interrogate the file?
Try running the original MP4 file through Handbrake - then import that to VS. Does it still blur when rotated?
The Rotate Filter uses keyframes, but if you rotate at the first keyframe (beginning of the clip) it should maintain the rotation throughout. Never had blurring with it.

Re: Moving object blurs badly after rotating image.
I suspect it really has something to do with a variable frame rate, and it seems to me that your Nexus really is using a variable frame rate. The Properties box shows a frame rate of 29.268 fps while the Project Properties -- I suspect derived from the frame rate of the first part of the first clip put in the timeline -- shows a slightly different frame rate of 29.29 fps. It may not be much, but that really does suggest a variable frame rate throughout the whole video. The "correct" fixed frame rate should of course be 29.97 fps. We already know that Video Studio does some strange things when confronted with variable frame rate video, and it could be that in this case the vraiable frame rate produces smearing when rotate is used. So I would endorse MrJohnny's suggestion of running the video through a video converter to produce a fixed rate video, and then try rotating that.

Re: Moving object blurs badly after rotating image.
Have you tried using the 'Flip' filter in the 'FX' library - by default it flips horizontally - but you can customise it to flip vertically - may just be different doing it in one movement
