X9 Update SP5 available

After computer problems re-instated the setup to a previous date. When closing VS X9 Ult got the popup saying update available, took it. The version number now shows as 19.7.0.12 (64 bit Ultimate), is that the latest?

There's a Welcome Screen, similar (same?) as X10. Two new Instant Project Template Packs included, reached via the Welcome Screen.

Web site the latest service pack is SP5, this was released last week 30Th May 2017, so pretty new.
Service Pack 5 is now available for VideoStudio X9 Pro and Ultimate. This update includes:
• FREE templates that kick-start your creativity. Express your vision with 16 new Instant Project templates. $60 USD value (Download from Welcome tab)
• NEW integrated learning! Easily access learning resources, video tutorials, effect packs and more in the new Welcome tab
• Improved stability when importing clips to the Multi-Camera Editor
Important: VideoStudio X9.5 or higher must be installed before you install Service Pack 5.

After you install both template packs, you might need to restart VideoStudio to see your templates. In VideoStudio, go to Edit workspace, and click the Instant Project button in the Library. Enjoy!

The latest is indeed 19.7.0.12 64Bit.
The most striking difference is the addition of the welcome screen, first used with x10

I wonder if they have fixed any outstanding issues?

First installing this patch has reset my preferences and set working folders back to default location.

Can you go to Settings Preferences (F6)
Do the details look squashed

My initial look at the edit tab displayed the workstation ( UI) incorrectly, the timelines stopped below the preview, with the libraries full length,
Hit F7 and reset to normal, now it shows ok.

Smart Sound

For X9 and X10 there are free Instant Projects available, I did not bother downloading from X10, but as I was prompted to do so with X9, I have installed those packs.

Unfortunately the Instant Projects must have been created using an earlier version that supported Smart Sound.
Yep some Instant Projects have a Smart Sound file which will not work with the newer version.
Not a disaster, just an oversight on Corels part.
Delete the clip and replace with our own audio.

Instant Projects free with X9 update.
Just opened up VS X6 Ult, Instant Projects>Custom>Dragged Wedding_09.VSP down to Timeline. The SmartSound Music Track is there. "Julie's Place - First Set". Has the Wedding_09.VSP always been there in VS X6? My memory is not what it used to be!

Hi John

At one time the Wedding Templates were not free, although Corel may have provided as a gift when purchasing Video Studio.
X10 provided those two free, this service pack also allows us to install the two Instant Project templates.

As they use Smart Sound clips they must have been created with an earlier, possibly X5.

Once downloaded and installed using X9 or X10 the templates will be installed to the
C:\Users\Trevor\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate folder.

Any template saved to that folder will be available for all eligible versions of Video Studio.
As they were created I think with X5, all versions after that should be able to open these templates.

Having said that I am having problems with X5, X6 and X8 in updating the Instant Projects libraries.
Not sure if that is the wedding pack or the Vibes?

Have you installed the other Vibes pack?
I think it is that pack that is affecting earlier versions, and giving me trouble.

Have installed both Wedding and Vibes Instant Projrct packages. (After a failure or two, but eventually they both took).

I cannot find the Vibes Instant Projects in X6, they are there under X10 & X9.

Vibes Instant Projects are there under Instant Projects in X10, the Wedding package shows under "Custom" and the Vibes under "Instant Project". In X6 the Wedding Package projects show under "Custom", there is not any "Instant Project" option under the X6 Instant Project icon.

The Wedding Instant Projects are showing under C:\Users\kinep\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate but the Vibes ones are not listed there.

The vibes are called 43_Romance 01_E to 52_Digital 01_S
20 folders in all.

The “E” and “S” indicates End and Start /Beginning.

Not sure why I cannot import Vibes to X6 as I can open the VSP using X6
Not really worried as I use X9 / X10, so not worth spending time on that, maybe Resetting X6 workstation will fix things?

If you want to locate the templates, drag one to the timelines to open, right click any clip for Locate on Computer.
