Multicam Audio out of sync
Hello, I am using Windows 10 with VideoStudioX10 Ultimate.
My problem is that I am doing a 2 camera multicam edit, which is synced perfectly in the multicam editor. Audio matches perfectly.
When I leave the multicam editor and move my multicam file to the timeline to create an MP4, the audio is now out of sync.
More specifically, everything is in sync for the first 4 or 5 minutes, then camera 2 gets out of sync.
Most of my files are about 10-20 minutes long, these are pro wrestling matches.
Now, I recently upgraded to X10 Ultimate. Everything was fine until yesterday. For the past month of using X10 Ultimate, I was not having these issues.
When I first got X9 Ultimate, I was ok, then i started having similar issues. But I bought a new computer and for a year, I had no issues with multicam.
Recently I got a new computer again, and upgraded to X10 Ultimate, and as I stated, had no issues for the past month.
Any help would be appreciated, this is driving me nuts.

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
Hi
A few thoughts
1 / Are both cameras recording at the same frame rate? What are they? Ideally the same format.
2 / When we add videos to the MCE the first video used as camera one sets the frame rate of the MCE timeline.
Apologies for any confusion, the actual frame rate is taken from the main timeline frame rate and not camera 1
3 / The main timeline in VS edit should be set to the same settings as above, at least the frame rate should be correct.
Can you check your Project Properties, that they match camera one video properties.?

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
Hello, I appreciate your feedback. i did check both cameras and the framerates do match, 29.97fps.
Likewise, the project matched.
Now, I had edited a video earlier. It gave me this issue.
I decided to re-edit it, but i made only 5 or 6 cuts to the enitre thing, just to see if it was still unsynced.
Well it wasn't. So i ended re-editing the entire video with the normal cuts, and the whole video stayed in sync.
Please tell me if I am crazy, or if i am onto something here...the only thing i did differently was this;
I use my laptop and my tv as a 2nd monitor. I always drag the multicam editor to the bigger screen and work from there.
This time I did not. I just kept the mutlican editor on the laptop.
Would this have any bearing whatsoever on my problem?
Because I am at a loss for why I am having this issue in the first place.

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
So I am still having this issue. No idea why I had a successful edit yesterday. Today I am back in the same boat. I did nothing different today.
1. The 2 cameras are in perfect sync in the multicam editor.
2. When i move the multicam file to my timeline, the edit and the audio are out of sync (less so at the beginning and by several seconds at the end of the video).
3. In my timeline, if I place camera 1 in the 2nd slot (directly below my edit) i can compare that the edits made don't match up to the original file in the timeline. The cuts I made are not in sync.
4. So somehow, from everything being perfect in the multicam editor, closing multicam editor, placing the multicam file to my timeline, the edits I make are shifting somehow my milliseconds, and in the end everything is off.
What is going on? Someone please help me.

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
What type of MCE your VSP?
All on single track or in PIP mode?
Way back even before MCE I always worked as PIP.
With 19.2 MCE, I did only 2 HD projects ~45min each, no problem on my old 7/32 i5-2400 4GB ram.
*** Forever, out of sync issues are system resources related

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
For my VSP the video is on a single track. No PIP.
Let's say my video is 30 minutes. If I cut the video and have 8 pieces, it will be fine.
But if I make noraml edits, which is a lot of cutting, and have maybe 100 pieces between camera 1 and 2, now it messes up.
I don't understand why it is perfect in the multicam editor. No issues!
But exit the MCE and take the VSP to the timeline, now i have issues.

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
Hi
I have no idea why you are having problems with audio sync
But then I have not made so many cuts
Two things to try/test
If you drag the MCE VSP to the timeline and press Shift, the project shows as a single file.
Do you still have audio sync issues.
If you start a new project, to clear the timelines.
Right click the library MCE VSP for locate on computer
Double click that file will open in project using MCE settings.
do you have audio problems?

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
I just want to share that I am experiencing the exact same issue. I tested this with both troubleshooting steps you suggested Lata. I also tested with both Video Studio X9 and X10 and the same issue occurs. I am curious if anyone is doing what I am doing and mixing several different kinds of cameras.

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
Hi
Using MCE we have the option to choose our audio output stream, this can be a separate audio file if used or any single video clip, we can also choose to use the camera angle cuts, so each cut uses its own video files audio.
The default setting will use Camera 1, set to Auto and each clip will use its own audio, individual clips cannot go out of sync regarding audio. This is ok if the audio on each camera is acceptable.
You can edit your MCE vsp by double clicking the vsp in the library, then change the audio option.
Does that improve audio.
Oh are you guys adding transitions to your clips? if so should be done in the MCE.

Adding no transitions, but yes I am using two different brand of cameras. Both have the same framerate, as mentioned before.

Did you try setting the audio to Auto, so sound is used from the selected video clip.
Does it make a difference to the audio sync?

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
Don
It appears I am having the same problem. I am a new user getting very frustrated. I have repeated this sequence several times.
1. I pulled together external audio and video from two Canon Rebels T7i cameras with identical settings in multi-Camera editor to sync the audio, adjust volume, and switch between cameras through the 16 minutes of the clip.
2. The channels were locked and remained in sync when finished.
3. I rendered the content and audio remained in sync.
4. I inserted the clip back into the video track and clipped out unwanted content and finished with 11 minutes. The audio was still in sync in the edit mode.
5. I rendered the clip. Audio sync was good at the front of the clip, but off by the time we got to the end.
I chatted with Corel support. They had me check drivers which were good, clear out temp files, save the projects and reset the software to the defaults. I started editing the project from the beginning and ended up with the same poor result. Any suggestions other than a different software package?

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
I am having the same problem as describe above except for 1 exception, the first video I created DID NOT have these problems. I used the same 3 cameras on two different days with the same settings on both days. The first days video had no trouble whatsoever, but the second days video goes out of sync at about 15 minutes. (FYI, they have about the same amount of cuts) And its not just one camera out of sync, even the camera which is the source of the audio is out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Multicam Audio out of sync
Hi kzsouth
If similar video from the same cameras are causing problems it could point to a problem with the program.
Very difficult to give any thoughts on this without having access to the files.
Are you able to share the files, upload to a sharing site to provide us with a download link.
At which point the out of sync is first observed, I assume it is correct within MCE.
You do not give any details of the Project Properties, your video properties or their lengths
You say the camera used for the source audio is out of sync, I do not understand that comment.
MCE does not split audio when using an individual source that video should always be in sync.
If you view that video on the main timelines is it in sync?
If you chose Auto as the audio source, I assume that is in sync.
