You are downloading wrong file.

I created an actual test picture, rather than some generic camera file:

Download test image:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxPfz ... kpRY3NvQVk

1. Start new project.
2. Go to Settings menu.
3. Go to project format, set it to: BluRay
4. Place downloaded test picture into overlay track.
5. Right click on the newly created clip, select Open Options Panel.
6. Press Alignment options.
7. Select ORIGINAL SIZE.
8. Read me the text that is displayed on that test picture.
9. Now. Load the same test picture into PS. Set to Actual Size. Read me the text.

Hi

Thanks Asik
I was expecting an image similar to the first post.
I also asked for the original image as taken by the camera.

We know that Video Studio does not manage large images, that images added to the timeline seem to be stripped of there pixels.
The image uses the pixels set by the project properties frame size, now that they support K4 does help in displaying more pixels.

Yes Corel need to fix this by reading the dimensions from the actual image file as Photo Shop, and not the project frame size.

Other users complained when zooming into high resolution maps. Do a search of the forum.
As a workround we can create one quality image of the zoom area, then when we zoom the full image we simply replace the zoom area with the higher quality image. Just before finishing the zoom, fade in the new image. As I said earlier it’s a workround

If you use a 1920 x 1080 image then adding that to the timelines will not drop any pixels, zooming in will reduce quality, but much better than using High Resolution images that loose a lot of detail.

Please feel free to report this to Corel Support

Random Nobody wrote:Can anyone confirm this bug please. Start a new project with 1920x1080 resolution. Load any larger image i.e. from your camera something like 6000x4000 into VideoStudio Backgrounds.

Apply Auto Pan & Zoom thing.

Once you zoom IN into 1:1 of original image, does your picture become heavily degraded in quality and resolution? It happens in both the preview window and rendered result.
You may find the topic called 'Incorporating panoramic photograph' (http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60291) to be very similar to your issue. Basically VS can't handle hi-res panoramic photographs.

This has been a pet peeve of mine with VideoStudio for as long and as many versions as I can remember. This is especially true when making slide shows from stills and using pan & zoom.

I have a canon DSLR that shoots 18MP. The images are far higher resolution than 1920 x 1080 so one would expect they can zoom in quite a bit before quality starts to drop and this has never been the case in VideoStudio in my exoerience (at least since x2. I solved this by using Sony Vegas and Sony Vegas Movie Studio, now Magix. As one would hope you can pan & zoom in to 1920 x 1080 in an HD project with no degradation making it far superior for slide shows.

I sure wish they would resolve this rendering issue as I would prefer not to go with Magix.

Hi Puck19

As far as I know this problem is still outstanding.

I can only urge you to report the problem to Corel Support, the more users complain the sooner it will be fixed, hopefully.
As you may be aware we are not Corel employees, simply volunteers running the forums, so Corel probably will not read your post.

There are other posts on the forum regarding the same issue

There is a definite bug in VS doing what you've done - see http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60291 (I provided a sample jpg photo straight from the camera to illustrate the bug).

In my case to address this VS bug, I changed the res from 7264x1920 to 4086x1080 and VS stopped down-rezing the photo. So it requires unproductive work to address this bug which is frustrating.
