A few days ago, MS did a win 10 update/upgrade/added enhancements. I don't know what ref number relates to this update, or where to find it, or if it's possible to uninstall this update.
However, this has impacted on PSP x9, which takes ages to fire up, (5 minutes) and switch between the browser and editing panes, (2-3 mins) plus when I try and close PSP, it takes ages (4-8 minutes) and sometimes doesn't. If I then use MS's task manager instead, PSP shows up as 'Not Responding'. As far as I am aware, any PSP x9 updates which have appeared since using it for the past year or so, have been installed.
I've uninstalled PSP X9 and reinstalled it, but that hasn't sorted the issues I have out. Has anyone else experienced this and have they found a way of resolving the above problems?
Problem with PSP x9 since May 2017 win 10 update.

Re: Problem with PSP x9 since May 2017 win 10 update.
I got the cumulative update to Win 10 on 10 May, though it hasn't affected PSP or any of my other programs at all. Mind you, I have always found it rather slow to open PSP -- though nothing like the time you mention. I just opened X9 x64 bit and timed it. It took exactly 25 seconds from mouse click to screen ready. I know (many) others get faster times than me, so it is probably my computer. But so far you are the first reporting this slowness since the May update.
FWIW I am not sure that you will be able to uninstall the Win 10 update, or if you can, it will try to reinstall, given the MS policy of making updates compulsory (unless you have Win 10 Pro). But a reinstall of the update might correct things. You could also try a System Restore to a point before the date of the May update. Settings > Update & Security > Update History will tell you when it was installed.

Thanks for that link hartpaul. I have the Creators Update version 1703 and OS build 15063.296 -- though I see from that link that there was a further update a few days ago which I have not yet received. Currently downloading it...

MS updates always mess up my PC. Mostly returns items to default. I always dread MS updates. However, it never interferres with PSP

That's the problem with the fact that with Win10 Microsoft if forcing updates on people and apparently you can't stop it. What I dread is when I have to give up 8.1 and am forced on to 10 when I'll have to put up with that BS also.trueblue wrote:MS updates always mess up my PC. Mostly returns items to default. Sounds like there may be some corrupt windows files. Try running DISM with the /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth options. See this article for more detailed instructions:
