Shared File does not Match Project Preview

Post by ViridianScourge »

Hello,

I'm making a music video, and when testing the output, I notice the video clips I'm using (small clips from 24-minute videos) are out of sync ONLY in the saved output.

They look fine in Videostudio, but are all out of whack when I share to ANY format (Tried MPEG-2, AVC, MPEG-4, Same as Project Settings, even toggling Preview Range Only and Enable Smart Render).

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I Smart Proxy'd all the videos I was using for smooth editing.

I'm using:

VideoStudioX10, don't believe I have any patches installed.
Multiple clips from long .MKV files

Video Properties:
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 16:9
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)

I also screengrabbed what I'm seeing in case I didn't explain well. The first part is in Videostudio and synced correctly, the second is the output file, where you can see a good majority of the later clips are completely wrong, even minutes off.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi

You do not give any indication of the properties of the original video files.
You mention MKV yet show Mpeg2 as the properties.

What are the properties of the original video file, and how were they recorded, camera, Iphone , Tablet etc. or downloaded from the internet?

Share – choose a template – deselect Smart Render, try that, does it improve the audio issue?

Hi

I would suspect that the unusual frame rate of 23.809 is also a variable frame rate, this can cause problems with audio sync.

A recent post here …. where using Variable frame rates was fixed by converting using Handbreak

Just tried this with one clip, and it worked.

I'll have to go through and relink all the clips to their new, stable framerate source, but that seemed to be the problem. Thanks so much!
