Black Preview and Unreadable Frames VideoStudio X10 Trial

Hi all,

I'm trying out the trial version of VideoStudio X10 on making 2-3 minute long videos by editing movies shot from my mobile. I like the filters and transitions, but am having problems with the preview screen and can't create the final video. The preview screen goes black when I pause the video which makes exact frame editing very hard, and makes it more clumsy to try out visual filters. Sometimes the preview screen also becomes black intermittently after I've added a colour correction and am playing the video.

I also receive an "Unreadable frame 0" error message when I try to save the video as AVI or MPEG.

I've run the Intel driver update utility and updated my drivers which made no difference. Any help would be appreciated! This looks like a good program, and is easy to use, but I can't get it to work.

Input files: MP4, 1920 x 1080, H.264 video, 30 fps, MPEG AAC audio, 256 Kbps. These are stored on my computer hard drive.

Project Properties: MPEG-4 Files, 24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 25 fps, Frame-based, H.264 Main Profile Video: 8000 Kbps, 16:9, 44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo, MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps

Computer: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2 GHz with 8 GB RAM and running 64-bit Windows 10 Home.
