Corel Video X10 - Video freezes midway through exported MP4

Post by Dave Holmes »

I've make a great video. I spent days on it. When I export, all looks good..but around 40 minutes in the video freezes and sound continues. That really sucks :(

I am using huge GoPro MP4 files, my whole video renders out at around 6GB. The only way I can get a work around is to export the first half, then second half, and then stitch together using Avidemux program, but that doesn't quite stitch the frames exactly and the join is passable but noticeable.

Would like to know why I can't just export with out any problems in VideoStudio X10, is there any kind of 4GB limit to exports or something? Really weird.

Any thoughts ideas for a solution?

Thanks,

Dave

Craziness. Just did another render and all is fine. Maybe I had some corrupted files on my earlier edit.

Would be interested to know if this has happened to anyone before and if they fixed it...just in case it happens again! =)

Dave.

I've just put in a response to your other thread about aliasing in your rendered project. So this will in effect repeat some of what I said there.

I render quite a lot of my own GoPro mp4 and have never had any of the problems you mention in this thread and in your other one. You haven't given us any information about your computer, but my first thought when I saw this thread about the break at 60% was to wonder if the computer might not be a powerful one and some other process was going on outside Video Studio which might have interrupted the first rendering at that point. In that case I would recommend using SmartProxy. This makes a standard definition copy ("proxy") of your high def original video. You edit that and at the end it is applied to the high def original.

My comments in the other thread about your Project Properties might also be relevant here. Do your Project Properties match those of your mp4 exactly? Did you get the message asking if you wanted them to match your first video? It's only in that circumstance that going to Share > Same As Project Settings is really relevant in a case like this. You could also use Same As First Clip if your first clip was also an mp4 with the same properties as the rest.
