Re: Titles and Visual Effects for them...
Hi
Yes there does seem to be some anomalies when setting our text.
The Customise Motion works well but seems to change the font size depending on the number of characters used in our title.
We can set CM then save the effect as a path allowing us to add that filter to any other clip, but again has a similar problem depending on the number of characters used in our title.
John provided a link to an older post which is still relevant today.
Using the text editors animation (TT’s) options may work better for you. Then set Pause Durations.
Once you have set the first clips animation using the TT’s manual approach we can then copy and paste the attributes to other title clips.
Right click the first title clip, copy attributes, right click other title clips for paste ( Shift + Click to select multiple clips)
There is a drawback when using the above the text position starts at the first character, not the centre of the text.
But to set the animation first then reposition your text works reasonably well.
The Paste Attributes will set all details set in the text editor Font Size, Font Type, Font Colour and Animation.

Re: Titles and Visual Effects for them...
I use the VS supplied titles as a starting framework, modify to fit my design then save it (Add to My Favorites) in the title library. That way I can use it whenever I need - size, position, face, colors, animations all stay the same.wkf94025 wrote:(Font sizing in titles)
Also, is there a better/faster/easier way to get titles to fade in / fade out? Other than the method I describe above with Customize Motion, keyframes, and opacity?
Kelly
Be sure to click the Title Attribute tab, click the Animation radio button, check the Apply box and select the animation effect desired from the scroll list. The fade in-out you want is there.

GEWB
