So, I just got VS X10 and had some issue after I installed the program. Everything works fine but the language of the menu is in German. For context: I'm currently residing in Germany but my German is not that good. What I meant to ask is if I can change the language somehow (or do I have to uninstall and reinstall it?). I looked through the settings but wasn't able to find such an option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Addendum: I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate edition SP1. The system language is English.

Re: Wrong Language upon installation
Hi Samael
And welcome to the forums.
First I think you will be best to contact Corel Support to fix this issue.
Clearly the program has defaulted to German simply as you are in Germany.
It may be that you have been provided with the German edition of the program, that is if they exist???
I searched the knowledge base and found some details relating to CVSX4, not sure if these are relevant for X10
https://support.corel.com/hc/en-us/arti ... dio-Pro-x4
and yes I would think you will have to reinstall the program to change the language?
As I say I think you will have to contact Corel Support………….

Re: Wrong Language upon installation
I believe all Videostudio programmes are supplied as multi-lingual with the installation selecting the language required by checking with the computer system language - obviously Samael's has picked up German from somewhere on the computer - do you have - or have you ever had any German language programmes on your computer - I would uninstall your Videostudio programme - then make sure in your computer control panel under Language (and or Region) that all language options are set to English - or in some cases En-US before you re-install the programme
if you look in the Videostudio programme folder at C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio X10 you will find folders for all the languages that your version can support
for instance DE and de-DE contain all German files and templates
EN and en-US contain all the English files
FR and fr-FR have all the French files
IT and it-IT have the Italian files etc
if your installation insists on picking German then maybe hiding all the language folders except the EN and en-US folders may force it to use only English
if you check the content of those language folders you will find they contain a lot of files duplicating each other but just in a different language - I believe asik1 has saved quite a lot of hard drive space on his computer by deleting all of those un-used language folders

Re: Wrong Language upon installation
When you install VS X10, you are given the opportunity to select the Language from a drop-down box. The default language may determined by your Windows country but you can select which language you want.
I did a reinstall using the Trial version, selected German and that is the language that was installed even though my system language is English

Re: Wrong Language upon installation
These language folders are in the installation folder - default or custom. The one Brian cites is the default folder, but if you have a custom install, look there: these folders are part of the Video Studio file tree. And there are 7 of them including EN in the x10 installation. Each one of them is about 31Mb, and each of them has the same folder naming pattern. I took a screen shot from my system showing 2 folders in a custom install and this is a properties display of the FR folder:
and at the bottom of the image, LH pane, you can see the start of the IT folders repeating the same name pattern.
So, deleting those language folders you don't want (say, all but EN) will gain you nearly 200Mb of storage space on the drive where you install the program.

Re: Wrong Language upon installation
I am trying to deploy VSx10 silently, using
"Setup.exe" SERIALNUMBER="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" INSTALL_QT=0 INSTALL_FP=0 FORCENOSHOWLIC=1 COUNTRY_CODE=1 TV_FORMAT=2 /q /norestart
..but it installs in German .. my computers use English (Australia), Windows 10 64 bit. Since I'm deploying it, I don't have the luxury of the 'choose your language' during setup. Does anyone know the commandline switch for which language to use?
UPDATE:
I just installed the 10.5 update, and it fixed my language to English! Now I have to work out how to silently rollout the update at the same time as the installation ..

Hi Mickers
Installing CVSX10 uses a web installer, that checks our downloaded files and updates any new files.
There have been a few versions of the web installer the EXE file is approximately 10Mb.
Try downloading the Trial version, that will download a new Web Installer at 10,823MB, running that and inserting your serial number should work ok, last time I used that it also downloaded and installed the X10.5 service pack.
