Hello,
I wanted to paste a rose picture into another photo.
SO i first went into the file that contaied rose. I selected the rose with magic wand. Then i copied it.
Then i went into the other file and now i must paste the rose selection into this new picture.
but how can i resize this selection? the rose is too big for the second photo
and
how can i paste this rose selection multiple times into the second picture?
so basically i want to paste this resized rose selection multiple times to the places i want in the second photo.

Re: pasting selection from other file
The pick tool, this lets you resize a floating selection as well as move it.
However, I recommend that you paste as a new layer instead of pasting as a selection. The reason is that while paste as selection lets you position the selection before dropping it into the image, once the selection is done it merges into the layer beneath it limiting your ability to continue to edit it. Paste As New Layer creates a separate layer that you can manipulate the rose separately from the rest of the image as much as you want. Though, don't do a lot of resizing with rasters. Successive resizing will destroy the quality of the layer.
When you paste as a new layer you can use the pick tool to resize and move each individual layer wherever you want. By default, they'll always end up in the center of the canvas at full size.
How you proceed after pasteing the first time is up to you. You can resize the first layer and then copy that layer and proceed to paste multiple new layers with that. But if you resize too small the first time and you want bigger ones after that you should stick with the original source.
