Hi. I am currently synchronizing working, proxy and project folders between two Windows computers running X9.5. Machines are Win7 and Win10. This allows working on the same project from desktop and laptop home or away.
Local app settings and media folders are not preserved though. Would it make sense to synch Windows Program Data and Program Files folders between two machines? I use goodsync, which has no problem at all synching many very large video files, so at least by size, this should work. Any thoughts about this?
Synch program data folder between machines?

I may work, you need to try it but save folders before any sync is done just in case. Of course both computers need to have the same OS and be with the same updates for the best chance to work.
I know it won't work with my setup because laptop only has Win10 C drive, and desktop has Win7 and generally programs and data in D drive and the system in C drive.

Hi
I think that running your projects on different pc’s will cause a re-link even though the folders are synced
You may be best to save your project using Smart Package to a USB Memory Stick, then simply insert that to your laptop.

Re: Synch program data folder between machines?
Thanks for the help. Maybe the W7 and W10 machines are a bit different, so definitely will back up before trying.
Regarding re=linking, I agree but think there may a workaround. I did it for a media organizing application. The folders are stored in the same file path on different machines (not the boot drive, but a second HD). I changed the d: drive volume numbers (of all 3 machines) to match and the three application installations accepted the media folders as all the same. Goodsync keeps everything reliably synched or locked. Not sure if X9.5 will allow this, but worth a try.
